Subject: E frontier's vanishing act

Does anyone know what's going on with e frontier? Content Paridise"s newsletters are blank, you can't access the website and you canb't get on e frontier's main site either.
 
What's going on?

I think EF and CP went to diner together ......

just try it in a hour...no big deal happens so many time's..  :}

I was there just now and downloaded the latest free Owl ..so i had no problem at all...

Actually there is a problem, but it doesnt affect everyone.  There is already a thread below. Bottom line  - their IT guys are dealing with it. If you have access from somewhere else, you may be lucky . My husband tried at work with no problem but we cant get in from home (Only 10 miles away)

Meanwhile, something that MAY work (it does for me) is when you get the "server not found" message, click "try again"  or reloading the page.

Finally, I managed to get on the content paradise, triedto get the free owl, and it does not come up as free,even though I entered my P6 no. I dont know if the offer expired by now,do you have to have poser6/7 AND passport? I opened a ticket,but i'mnot holding my breath.Anyone one else hadmore luck? Frustrating!

until the situation is resolved with 'registerfly' things are going to be a problem.

registerfly has basically 'imploded' with investigations for fraud, threats of having their licence pulled by ICANN etc. it's really out of EF/CP's control at this time.. even if they manage to swap providers (if they can since thats a common complaint against registerfly it seems) it would still take a coupla days to iron this all out...

Havn't gotten anymore newsletters either. Sounds like all we can do is sit and wait- never an easy thing to do...

This, to be frank, SUCKS!!!

I downloaded and installed the P7 SR1 and it has rendered my P7 totally unusable.  Not only that, it's not letting me access my System Restore (I set a Restore Point before installing the SR1).  Now all I get is a hang with System Restore - it keeps prompting me to click Next.

Because we just moved my P7 install disks are still in a box buried in the garage, which makes this doubly frustrating because my P7 was running just fine before the SR1.  Every time I try to render I get a message about a problem with the Firefly Render Engine and increasing my Variance Threshold, changing bucket sizes and rendering in a separate process.  I've always rendered in a separate process, I leave the variance threshold at default and my bucket size is 32, the same size I've been using since P5.

What is going on with them?  They think this is an improvement?  If I could get on their site I'd file a bug report but ...

Needless to say, I'm no longer a happy customer!

Does anyone have an actual phone number for EF? maybe someone could call them and find out how long things will be up in the air?

Well, it's a good thing I've been running computers for as long as I have ... I got my System Restore to work by booting into Safe Mode and entering the System Restore command line in a command prompt window.  I'll be checking my P7 shortly but it should be ok now.

Trust me, the SR1 won't be going back on and as soon as I can log into EF, I'll be sending tech support a description of what happened.

Unfortunately the length of time has nothing to do with EF.  They aren't in any control of the situation.

It is purely the company referenced above, and all EF and many other companies can do is hold on and wait until registerfly gets their act together.
