Hello everybody,

i was just asking myself : why nobody (or near) clic on my pics to have a look at it ? I just 4-5 comments and about 20-30 for  'views' ...

I work hard on my pics, so my pics are so bad ?

do you have the same 'problem' ?? is it normal ?

Don't hesitate to tell me what's wrong with me ! ... thank you very much for you honesty

and.. hem, sorry for my poor english !!

Dont be disheartened Olivier maybe take a look at some of the images you post like Roma the sword and Namur ones these have done well... On average you have had 40 plus views per image up to  120 plus views which is very good...

I enjoy your work too Oliver...there just isn't enough time in the day for me to go through the whole gallery, especially if you post before or after I get online. I am sure many people have similar issues. Hang in there!

Someone here at Rendo once made the comment/likeness of the galleries to a real musuem - watch the people in a museum! Priceless and timeless art, and MOST people just walk from piece to piece - RARELY stopping to look at one for longer than 5-7 seconds (time yourself when looking at an image).

It's not a reflection of the quality of your work - don't worry! Most people are scanning the galleries while sipping a cup of coffee between work tasks - not a lot of time for comments.

Keep 'em coming!

Hi Olivier, It takes time to understand what the Renderosity audience wants to see... and what they want to see has little to do with the quality of the image. I guess we all experienced that our best images don't get much views or comments; and our more 'popular' subjects get more attention and respons, even when the image is not so good. Some of my best images got 5 or 6 comments; some of my worst images got 30 comments... try to find the logic in that... Keep up the good work, and don't let this discourage you for the quality of your work... just try to understand the motifs... Geert

Post photo's of naked girls..
or of cats sleeping on a sofa..
Then your views and comments will go up..

:thumbupboth:

Otherwise....

Screw  what everyone else thinks ....Post what you feel like posting..

Everyone should ask them self...
why do I do this?
For the applause of the masses?
or to make art..

I agree with Pushinfaders - it's always great to get comments, but at the end of the day, as long I as like my photos (which usually I do or I wouldn't have posted them in the first place??!!) then it doesn't matter whether people comment or not.
I prefer to have one or two comments that help me get a better result the next time, rather than 20+ comments of "lovely photo" - I can accomplish more from those couple than the rest put together.
I confess, I haven't been to your gallery yet ....... I will rectify that now though!
Keep doing what you love most - taking photos - and don't worry about anyone else's opinions...  art is after all, a matter of personal taste!

waow.... thank you all my friends ! yes you are real friends !

i'm now more motivated than ever :OD

i've got a better understanding now about what 'everybody' want to see... it's like the effect between commercial and not-commercial... i don't like this difference..
but .. hem ... i will not modifiy my style or subjects...

for me, photography is a way of life... i need it to be happy ! but i need yours pics too.. to learn your techniques & views... it's why we share our pics no ?

Comment with 'love it' or something like that is not constructive... i know... it's cool but we need more...

so there is a life outside of photo & 'rosity.. hopefully ! we need it to take pics lol and i understand it's not always possible to put comments everywhere ! shame on me, i can't leave comments on every pics... :o( but i'm not sure everybody want (or is ready to read) a really contructive (positive or negative :os) comment..

ok.. i stop writing lol

thank you again everybody ! and thank you BibbyBear for your comment on my website :oD

I must admit pushinfader photo's of naked girls does work, that's what I did.  But not anymore it's a quick way of getting many veiws, but I now want to be taken more serious as a photographer.  Just keep at it.  it will get better.  I think all your photo's are great!

I was of course being sarcastic..

There are some artists here who post brilliant nude work..I didn't mean any disrespect to them or any of the cat lovers..

I was just making a point..

@fred255 serious photographer? That me lol Hey I post what I shoot. I got the good , the bad, and the ugle in my gallery. You see the ones that I messed up and still post it to show others what not to do and I tell them too. I tell them what I doing all the time on any photo or image.

pushinfader is right on. He will not show you a bad way. I may show you an experment that went bad. And I did that a lot. As for veiws and comments go to poser gallery and you see veiws 500 and comments 10 lol do not add up. so look at veiws just like comments ;they did open your image to look at and that a blessing in my book.

Your images is good; as you say looking at other people art help you ; so keep on keeping on and hang in there.
sorry for my bad English.

what you see is not what you know; it in your face

A person did an interesting experiment here (before the nudity in thumbnails ban)  where they posted a thumb of a partially naked female.  The actual picture had nothing to do with the nude female and their view count was astronomicly high.  Not that I think you should post a thumb that is not a part of your full sized pic but an interesting observation anyway.

That being said I try to approach my photography in such a way that if I like the picture that is all that matters.  I aproach my music the exact same way.  (probably why I don't have a recording contaract)  LOL.  If I like my music and it makes ME happy then that is all that really matters.  If just one other person likes it then in my mind I have a masterpiece.  But if no one else likes it then who cares?  I make my art for my sake and just go with that.  I have had only a couple of photos with more than 5 or 10 comments and only one that broke 100 views and I think it was my worst photo posted.  As they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder and there is just no figureing out the human mind.

I've done that before. If you go to my gallery page, down at the bottom it shows the image with the most views. Mine still is: "The image with the most views is "Stripping - Partial Nudity" with 1589 views." LOL -- people just enjoy looking at nudity. It isn't my most commented image, thankfully.

I agree with Pushinfaders, Nude will be doing very well......I also see that some" not so good shots" get a lot comments.....we have discus this earlier in a thread.....and I have also not always a lot comments.....but for me it is not that important, sure it is nice to get some......I post my shot because I like it...so I am very sure what I post.......BTW your work is really awesome......so please don't feel frustrated......I will add your website on mines if you don't mind....so let me know okay .....and yes I have some soft erotics posted in my gallery...and the views are much more than my animal shots.......!!!!

So please don't feel bad about it......I look forward to your work.....
