Topic for the challenge for March 1st, 2007.

hello there everyone...:). first of all thanks again for choosing me the winner for the last challenge "Industrial" and for giving me the opportunity to choose the new topic/theme.

ive come up with idea, that includes a lot for everyone to think about and include in their artwork.

Topic: Fantasy landscape.

we can go for castles, ruins, futuristic stuff, rivers, greenery, mountains, inco-operate sky, thick clouds etc etc. u name it.

it would be great to see how each one of us interpretates, with his/her unique idea.

i hope everyone agrees...:).

So  do we post an image or link?

Cheers,

Kurt

tresamie ( ) posted Sun, 04 March 2007 at 5:25 AM

Posting an image is better, since no one will miss seeing it.  Posting a link is acceptable if that is your choice.

When you upload an image here, it does not count as your daily image posting.

I haven't been here for ages, sort of got sidelined into texture work, but will try to visit a bit more.

A super topic this one.

I don't often do this, but I do have an old pic in my gallery that woukld fit this completely. Too big to post here, so I will add a link instead.

Funny, I have been doing some IR photography recently that fits this theme well. Feel free to take a peek. This is one of my favorites.

it's a poem i wrote a long time ago after discovering the word panjandrum all over again.

Landscape
    by
william marsland

This vantage point on craggy tor
atop resplendent scenery
fits my stance as heavens throne
Its presence, bids my sight
be overwhelmed;
whilst sitting in repose
as to horizon
Mother Earth unfolds

broad winding water
stretched below, cuts a swathe
flecks of rainbows dance
downward, onward fleeing
to a fluid jewel of life
a mirrored plain
of shattered blinding light

golden-headed soldiers
throng valleys rolling slopes
commandeered in silent reveille
by nature’s call to arms
attuned by every whispered word
whilst marching in the breeze

heather strewn carpets
hug feet of giant firs
canopied in hats of verdigris
supple limbs half clothed
in spikes of emerald green
outstretched towards their neighbours
in request of summer waltz

flanking, white sheeted panjandrums
bear witness to the secret vale
harsh, self-important by themselves
they rise majestic, comely crowned.
in alabaster collarets
receiving touch of heaven’s kiss
upon their moistened brow

There is no real limit to how many images each person can post, but each image will be voted on separately, so you actually have a better chance if you post fewer images.  😄

Not how I intended at the start, but I decided to have a play with Bryce, didn't feel all that comfortable after I've been concentrating with Blender, I started running out of render time boy had I forgotten that Bryce 'feature'  :cursing: still it's not too bad.

The image inserted isn't full size please follow the link! (feeling too rotten after the tonsillectomy to mess around with sorting the links out neatly sorry 😊

There's some great entries, good luck all in the voting....
