Don't get excited....I'm posting this to find out if anyone knows of a service whereby you could upload your Bryce scene files and get them rendered by someone with a Big Computer in exchange for hard cash.....?

My self-build system - Vista 64 on a Kingston 240GB SSD, Asus P5Q Pro MB, Quad 6600 CPU, 8 Gb Geil Black Dragon Ram, CoolerMaster HAF932 full tower chassis, EVGA Geforce GTX 750Ti Superclocked 2 Gb, Coolermaster V8 CPU aircooler, Enermax 600W Modular PSU, 240Gb SSD, 2Tb HDD storage, 28" LCD monitor, and more red LEDs than a grown man really needs.....I built it in 2008 and can't afford a new one, yet.....!

My Software - Poser Pro 2012, Photoshop, Bryce 6 and Borderlands......"Catch a  r--i---d-----e-----!"

I'm building a Bryce Render Farm as we speak.

When I'm done I'm going to do some test renders of known Benchmark scenes and post results
and see if it will actually help render things faster :)

By chance that's the same thing I'm doing too!

For sure theres renderfarms out there, some big ones too. They used to do bryce, dunno how thats goin right now though... bryce did almost drop off the planet durin the B5 age...
However... another thing u might wanna concider is ur gunna feel it in ur wallet if u go to a renderfarm. I remember a while ago prices were about $0.30 per gigaherz, per hour. so lets do the math:

$0.301ghz24hours = $7.20 which isnt much, but half a day for a home render pc so not really interestin to send to a renderfarm...

$0.301gh336 = $100,8.... lotsa cash, for 1 pc rendering only 1 week... still something u could better render at home.

4 weeks? $403,2... etc. etc.

ouch!

Yep, the costs for a render farm can be a challenge. I'm interested in doing my own render farm service. A few things must occur for me first, though. Mostly right now I'm really involved with a programming project that's really taking all my time. Running my own Bryce render farm and setting it up for others to use it really interests me as I'm really getting more and more involved with computer clustering in a business sense. The thing about a Bryce farm, from what I see, right now it's gotta appeal to the hobbist (sp?). Which means, to me, dirt cheap. That also means to me it's gotta be financially supplimented by something else. No comment from me about animations.

Anyway, I'm very interested in this. My current farm is 7 computers out of 9. Works nice, but could be better. Anyway, more thoughts later.

I have 5 right now.....it would have been 6, but the Motherboard I purchased from Ebay was a deadboard.  I will probably endup having 7 in the end.
