Subject: Having A Good Day!!

Well, today I enrolled on a Basic B&W Photography Level 2 OCN course starting in September. It covers just about everything I should need to know about using an SLR and even developing techniques in the dark room.

I will then probably go on to do the second year Level 3 after that by which time I should hopefully have improved enough to warrant a decent purchase.

:woot:

I have been toying with buying a DSLR but think it's probably a waste of time until I have mastered the art of my SLR and PAS digital - I really don't get the most from either of these as I still don't know what I'm doing most of the time.

Anyway, not to take the thread away from my good mood ...... I've just received notification from a very well known online payment centre (assuming names of other sites are not allowed here??) that I've received a payment for one of my graphic web sets that I have made.  The awful thing is, it's one of my earlier sets so it's not that good (IMO) and it was the first set I ever made using one of my photographs (again, it was a crappy one taken several years ago by chance on the side of the road using an old APS camera I had at the time!!!!).

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not suddenly going to be able to give up my full time job here or anything, but, I can't believe that I have actually sold my FIRST set!!

Yee Haaaaaaaa!!  I've waited months for this day to arrive and it finally has!!!  :m_tongue:

Anyway, just wanted to pass on my high spirits to you all as it's been fairly quiet around here this weekend.

Hope you've all had a good St Paddy's Day and if you're from the UK, have a good Mother's Day tomorrow (and any other country that celebrates it tomorrow too!!)

Hugs

Chrissy xx

congrats on the first sale and forwards on to many more hopefully. Always a nice feeling when something you created is worth money in the eyes of others.
Good luck with the photography course!

That'a girl...I think we all hope to be able to sell something we've created and other feel are worthy to purchase.  I think I would be as high as you feel also...Good going enrolling in classes it can only improve on your skills and give you a good understanding of your camera. Congrats! Aloha~

Humm.. can concur..the first image I sold was full of noise, etc., and enlarged too much. I should have told the purchaser that a 15 inch width was too much. Anyway, no complaints from them.   I wanted to do better but that was a while ago with a now very outdated digital cam which was "state of the art" at the time!  Who really knows what folks want or appreciate? Being in a retail business not related to photography, I have learned in 30 years not to try too hard to predict the likes and dislikes of others.

Congats on the sale! Yeah!  and...sure, go for it in the classes.         Tom.

I'm quite excited about the course - just have to wait until September and see if I can improve on my knowledge by then..... got a funny feeling the people that go on this particular course already know what they're doing with a camera and just want to expand their knowldege into the darkroom!!

Oh well, I have a few months to master some of the terminology even if only in theory!!
