How about the ability to ignore: - Selected merchants - Selected forum users (which would block all their forum comments) - Selected free-stuff contributors (which would hide a specified user's contributions) - Selected galleries Just my 2

Add to that, Ability to Block certain people from posting comments on your work!!!

I would rather be Politically Incorrect,
Then have Politically Correct-Incorrectness!!!

If so, the blocked user should be told that he is blocked and who is blocking him.

It like a blocked telephone number, when someone tries to enter your gallery they are told through a pop-up window the gallery user has blocked them from viewing and/or commenting on their work

Why do you want to block users from making comments?
If you allow comments you have to keep in mind that you allow positive and also negative comments because this is the hint text next to the allow comments option.

To get rid of the backslappers?

No. To get rid of the Face Slappers, LOL!!!!

Honestly it is not as bad as it was a year ago when I deleted my whole gallery here at Rendo
because of hazers that could not believe I was a Newbie to 3D at the time. They kept harassing
me with their Malicious Comments and nothing I did would get rid of them except
move to a different gallery that did not put up with that sort of Crap and yes a couple of them found me over there and after only a few Malicious comments, they were asked to stop when they would not, they were permanently dispatched via their IP address. But since Redo has gone through the growing pains they did this past several months I have not seen nor heard from them. I think they moved on to other sites. Now understand that I am not talking about critics or critical comments. These peoples comments were cruel and very unreasonable and if someone of them or anyone else starts it would be nice to have the ability to quickly, painlessly block their user name from

Commenting on your work. If no one has harassed you then I hope they never do, but you will understand

When it happens and I Guarantee you will not like it

LMFAO!

Oh Gawd how I want to comment on this!  LOL!

Anthony Appleyard ( ) posted Mon, 26 March 2007 at 1:14 AM

There is no LOL or LMFAO about it: this sort of malicious commenter can be very hurtful. Luckily I have not suffered any of it here. There should be a mechanism for the affected user to ask a moderator privately to ban the culprit(s).

Miss Nancy ( ) posted Mon, 26 March 2007 at 11:28 AM

it could get bad, though. it could get to the point where the image posters will ask a mod to delete a rating that isn't the highest, to delete any comment that isn't "oooh, how pretty". however, now that they've instituted the criticism club, things will become more reasonable.
