Ok, yes I could sijmply reinstall Poser but I'd like to know what and why I'm getting this error.. "Caught C exception access_violation trapped at 167:442ae6" It's always the same error. Since yesterday. It only happens when I try to render an image. So I'm wondering what it means. Anyone else ever get this one?

Have you installed the P4 updates?

No, I was worried about glitches I'd heard of....

I used to get those too. I started getting them all of a sudden, I don't know why. I'd get them when I selected Michael's head, weird huh? I reinstalled Poser but if I remember correctly it didn't help much. A bit later we formatted my hard drive and installed everything again and then I also got the 4.03 patch. Haven't seen the error since.

You need the latest patch. Since I installed it those problems went away. Also scan disk and defrag if neccesary

Just don't format your hard drive. ;-) a3-ro.jpg

You have most likely developed bad sectors on your hard drive if this problem has started sudenly or you may have contracted a computer virus that has corupted some of your windows files

No, no, its just the unpatched P4. Yours is a regular problem with pre-patch version. Thats why it was the first thing that came to mind when you described the problem. Most of the problems you hear about recently are probably with ProPack, which is in its first release and does still need some patches. The older P4 patches, on the other hand, cleared up virtually all the crash problems with P4 (at least for most folks). I don't believe anyone would recommend against installing them now.

afore the patch... is the geom .rsr was slightly corrupt... it'd generate the "C-Exception error!" just delete teh rsr fomr the geom directory.. allow Poser to rebuild it... but hte patch does seem to catch a lot of the smaller errors and "fixes on the fly" Good luck Lady Silver

OK, I'm also having this "Caught C exception access_violation..." A LOT and almost every time I have to install Poser again. Several 'free stuff' items have already caused this error. Now here's my question: does that patch really work? If yes, then where can I download it and is it free? Thanks.
