COOOL!!!! I was always hoping this great proggy would be ported to the Mac. Does anybody know whether it will support multiprocessing? That would be really great. But with MacOS X there shouldn't be any problem about that, right?

MikeJ ( ) posted Mon, 14 May 2001 at 7:09 AM

Vue d'Esprit 3.1 already DOES support multi-processing, assuming your OS does. In my case, I have win98, which doesn't, but I only have one cpu anyway. GRRRR..... ;) Domn't know anything about Macs though, but I bet it will, again, assuming that OS X supports it. Good question, and I hope someone can answer it.

Woo-hoo!!! Just when I was weakening and thinking of getting a PC just to run Vue d'Esprit. Hope its Carbon so I don't have to make the jump to X yet.

MikeJ ( ) posted Mon, 14 May 2001 at 7:35 AM

It's my understanding that it goes back to OS 8, whatever that means. ;) And yes, I have heard the word "carbon" mentioned.... can you tell I know nothing about Macs? LOL!

If it runs "native" under OS-X, multiproccessors will work with it as the OS itself handles processor allocation. If it runs under the OS9 module included with OS-X, then it will only use multiple proccessors if the application itself is coded to handle it (like PhotoShop).

vue is multiprocessor on the pc, FWIW
