Subject: natural woman?

Are there any textures for ladies with underarm hair? I don't want to paste hair from a male texture because I think lady hair is pretty different.

I try to keep my gals shaved, lol

Hmm, I haven't seen any ref photos that show gals with underarm hair. So none of my textures have it either.

Let me introduce you to my multiple personalities. :)

I saw a fairly well done image at one time that fitted the following product to a woman

I think this was the image (contains nudity)....

Nevada character for V4 at DAZ has underarm hair, or so I recall her to have :)

Thanks. I find searching the RMP terrible but I am slowly slogging through Merchant Resources.

Acadia ( ) posted Thu, 05 April 2007 at 1:30 PM

I think I remember seeing one in the market place here though I'm not 100% certain.

I dont' know why merchants don't include a MAT Pose for that with their textures because it's perfectly natural in some cultures for women to not shave their body hair.

Yeah... I saw one once for V3 which is what I want but I can't track it down now.

Mask Edit has one in his store.

Thanks, I'll go check.

Found this that says it has under arm hair but I can't make it out in the promo:

Why not search a few 'Hairy-Women' porn sites, and then cut and paste your texture.  It's what I did.

Monodot, have you thought about using dynamic hair?  I played around with this once and went a bit overboard!  It never got beyond a WIP, but  I was shooting for a hippie look and ended up with a REALLY natural woman.  Though I’ve painted the texture to be much different than the original, I used dynamic hair and cloth to get the body hair.  This character is modeled after a woman I went to college with.  And though she won’t be appealing to most of the people on this board, it is very true to what she looked like nude.  She didn’t care what people thought and that’s what I was trying to capture.

The problem with the dynamic hair approach is that thicknesses have to be adjusted depending on the zoom.  What a pain.  Despite that I’m fairly happy with the experiment.  The underarm hair, pubic hair, and leg hair defiantly looks more realistic on the first pic.  You can see where I stopped tweaking halfway through the second.  This is one of hundreds of experiments I need to finish!

Don’t mean to hijack the thread… but any thoughts?

now I'm wondering about TOS... is pubic hair ok?!

Dale B ( ) posted Mon, 09 April 2007 at 8:10 PM

Excellent work on the body hair, W2k! How many hair groups did you have to create, anyway?

Acadia ( ) posted Mon, 09 April 2007 at 8:22 PM

Pubic hair is fine :)   Just make sure that your pose doesn't expose the inner bits of the female anatomy that are not normally seen from the outside.

Quite a few.  For example, I used hair groups pointing to the right, left, up and out for both the pubic and belly button region.  Pretty much any part where hair naturally crisscrosses meant I had to use multiple groups.  Plus in some areas I had to use overlapping groups of varying densities to get a smooth fade out such as going from her shin (with lots of hair) to her upper thigh (where it eventually disappears).  I also used a few for her bangs, but that is pretty normal these days.

Lol, I think with this case she is very well covered down there...

dphoadley ( ) posted Mon, 09 April 2007 at 10:26 PM

But how would this work in an animation?  What if you wanted to do a showere scene, and pan around her body?  Would you have to readjust the hair for each frame?

Not sure I understand the question David... the hair moves with her in an animation.  I grew it on a catsuit converted to dynamic cloth.  This gets around the need to have different groups on each body part and allows me to use all the custom body morphs I can’t live without.  It also gives me a handy way to transfer the hair if I ever need something like this in another project.  I just hide the body suit and leave the hair visible.  It is a VERY complicated solution to a very rarely confronted problem.  But I love trying to strive for realism… even though I’m not very good at it most of the time.

dphoadley ( ) posted Mon, 09 April 2007 at 11:05 PM

I admire your efforts to achieve realism, I think that they are very laudable.  I think too, that you have made a very positve suggestion here -one that's very inovative.  But my question is, how well could this be used in an animation, or is ti best used only for still rendes.  You said that you needed to readjust the hair for each focus, so how would that work in a situation of constant motion?  Could possibly a pyton script be written to automatically readjust the hair of each camera angle and focus?

whoopy2k ( ) posted Mon, 09 April 2007 at 11:29 PM

As long as the zoom didn’t change drastically it would be ok to readjust for each ‘cut’ of the camera.  But if you wanted to have a well integrated zoom you’d have to either build something like you’ve suggested or do a lot of editing in post to splice different animations.  Again, I’m not sure I’ve fully answered the question but I really haven’t taken this to its conclusion yet myself.  Since there wouldn’t be a major call for women with body hair from the masses, I suspect this is a pretty niche solution.  But if I were to ever model myself in 3D I’d need this one!=)  Men always look so fake due to lack of believable body hair.  Plus how cool would this be for furry aliens or animals?  Regardless I think I’ll try to play with this idea more in the future… either as with this hippie crush from my past or in some other incarnation.

**Wow! Looks great but you are sure more commited then me! Just too much work! Use of catsuit is cool but I know I gotta stick with a a texture  based hair even though it could not possibly be as good as the effect you have obtained.

Catsuit, hmmmm....... Into the idea folder goes that one (pondering Traveler's faun legs and fantasy creatures with fur once again....)!

Lol... thanks.  I wish we had faster, more capable software where cloth and hair are concerned so we didn't have to settle for workarounds.  Honestly I go to this much trouble with cloth sims too but P7's woes have been such a source of frustration that I haven’t used poser much at all lately.  But I'm glad at least a few people like my idea for body hair.

dphoadley ( ) posted Tue, 10 April 2007 at 8:11 AM

It's very Presumptious of me to ask, but could you make the a hairy P4 catsuit for my PosetteV3 that I could distribute with her too?  I'll certainly understand, if you're too busy.

David, I don't have time to make a catsuit (i'm only a hacker of a modeler outside of sketchup) but if you've got one you can distribute I can possibly help you with the body hair.

I am sure I saw an underarm hair prop at one of the Gay Poser sites...sorry don't remember which. Maybe someone here knows. But it was pretty cool....and free!

Dalinise La Passione has underarm hair. I have that model. Also, it is easy to paint.
