Subject: More fun with replicator

I'm seeing some neat thing done with the replicator - lights, particles, fur... This is a quick fish pic. I tried it with birds a while back. Has anyone seen a good bat model? I'd like to try it with a flock of bats. R

Very cool idea and it looks great! I'd love to see the endangered salmon runs look like this again. Bats would look great as well, though I haven't run across any convincing models in my search. I love Carrara's replicators.

Hey, Yeah the replicator is pritty cool. I have used it for Bats, in my image "Queeen of Bats". But they were in the background and kinda looked more like flies. There is a close up of the bat I modelled for it though. The "queen of Bats" image  -  [ http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1218277&member](http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1218277&member) I was thinking of returning to the bat and maybe skinning him. As the image was done before I knew how to.

Looks pretty good. Like the red eyes. Do you add your replicator to a terrain and then hide the terrain? That is what I usualy do. R

Ummmm!!
The last image I used the replicator on was "BBnB"
Lots of spent shell casings.
There was no terrain in the scene.
I try to get everything in the scene and render in one go.
I don't like doing post.
Lazy I guess.

ANGER. IS THE BEAST WITHIN.

Not a replicator pic...yet. This is a new species of alien fish I am working on. I've used a rainbow trout I made some time back and I'm adding to it. Soon I will add a whole new texture map and bump. It isn't hard to add on fins - I didn't even detatch the skeleton, just added and moved around in vertex room and then posed with bones again - adjusted weights a bit, and it was good to go. This fish uses its nose bone as a spear to take out larger fish or sea mammals and travels in schools of several dozen. Any suggestions to improve appreciated.

Okay, I wanted to play with folding the dorsal fin down but it was major work - bones worked okay with some morph to clean it up, but I stopped for the night. Here is another render with background lightning.

Very cool concept! I like the "alien fish" and I find conjectures and renders of alien life to be fascinating.  Very good modeling and texture.

Yes, very cool bats. Did you build or buy your bat brycetech? Can I spell alliteration? Did you replicate on an invisible terrain? Here is more work on my alien fish - really it's a dinosaur fish / seal thing I'm working on. I need to add blood - the seal doesn't make it.

I made the bat with amapi ....its a poser bat.  It used to be for sale here at r'osity (I guess it still is, I havent checked)

its 3 different poses
3 different particle emitters

and then the trees are part of a surface replicator on a terrain.

:)

It is nice, even up close. I've always wanted to bring something over to Poser but the only thing I could manage was a tree : ) You used particle emitters ... looks like it worked out. I haven't had a lick of luck with anything other than bubbles and symetrical shapes.

added bubbles - any suggestions to make it more complete? I will add blood later in photoshop, but I'm not sure about the bubbles - the seal/beast is a mammal. I still need to change the texture maps for the fish. How is the lightning? The deapth is about 20 feet down... clouds - some sun...

Okay, I had to try less light... it is under water. Which one looks better? I am trying to show off the fish...
