Woah! Get well soon! Injuries like this can be a pain in the neck!

And in my final hours - I would cling rather to the tattooed hand of kindness - than the unblemished hand of hate...
My girlfriend used to be a RN back in the UK. After 2 back injuries on the job over here that is definitely gone, she spent several months in the hospital the second time. She can walk, etc. but is definitely on the fragile side concerning backs. Treat this as the most serious thing you have ever done and get as well as you can.
I am glad to hear that you are not done in by it. Get well.

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!
Oh my, that's not good. A shame it ruined your holiday, but just make sure you follow instructions, as others have said bad backs are no joke - I know it's my back that got me into a disabled college and in a weird way has given me another chance at a life, but you really do have to take care.
All the best and take it easy and get better.

Well most of you would have noticed my silence on the forum.
Well i'm back and believe me even though i can only spend 30 minutes a day sitting up its great.
The wife and i made plans to go on a short trip down to Esperance, west australia for a week. Everything started out great, we made great time getting there and had a quick bite to eat before setting things up for the night.
Following morning, Sun shining, breakfast on the go i went for a shower has we wanted to hit some shops for a few things. All plans for the days outing were set in stone..well they were until i slipped on the bathroom floor. Ambulance called i was rushed to hospital unable to move or feel my legs and a small 7 inch gash to the back of my head..
Oh god i thought while in the ambulance, my nightmares come true i can't walk. after spending what seemed like days being looked at by doctors, nurses, having xrays/catscan of my spine i was informed that i had caused the L4 and L5 to seperate and i had major swelling around the spinal cord from the fall.
6 days later i was allowed out of the hospital but i was to stay lay in bed for 2 weeks or could be more i was informed. I wasn't to get in a car and travel for long distances..yeah right i thought, i'm going back to bunbury tonight.
Anyway, i got home, been in bed for 2 weeks now, been on these painkillers that not only numb my body but they actually make you see things if you fight the tiredness they cause.
Today i have to visit my doctor and get xrays done to make sure everything is falling back into place and there is no major damage caused to the spinal cord..nope feels fine to me, least now i can feel my legs and walk.
So there you have it..my great holiday trip gone wrong and why i haven't been around much
I have opinions of my own -- strong opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.
