Subject: The Case of the Disappearing Poser Window

Sometimes the main window or workspace just up and disappears in Poser 6 (SR 3) . I can't figure out why or how to get it back except to restart Poser. Any thoughts on this? Memory problem perhaps? Mac OS 10.3.9

At least you can get it back ...  I've heard of a similar problem a couple of times but in those cases it was different, the user couldn't get the document window back at all.  Count your blessings!

I don't know what causes that. I have it happen sometimes too, but not recently.  Also, there are times where I get a message upon starting up Poser about the window being the wrong size or something and it will automatically resize the window to itsy bitsy, or sometimes leave it at the size it was, but in both cases, it gets placed in some other spot in the pose room.

I think it's just a bug with version 6 that was never fixed, and because Poser 7 is now out, won't be fixed.

I messed up my GUI settings and I exited Poser, went to the prefs sub-folder, and deleted the XML file for my GUI preferences.  Restarted Poser, and the original factory settings returned ( including that annoying default figure - ugly chap, I'm sorry to say.)
