Subject: Request for advice - To find an available texture for a V4 female body builder

PXP ( ) posted Sat, 05 May 2007 at 5:24 AM · edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 8:53 PM

I am looking for a realistic V4 texture that I can use for a female body builder and I want to select something from the current range of textures available here at Rosity/DAZ3d or elsewhere. Theres a lot of textures available for V4 now and its very difficult to know which ones might work for my theme? If you have tried or are using a specific V4 texture that could work for me then please could you give me the link or the details where its found.
Thanx PXP

Oh well! - Thanks to the fifty odd people that looked in at this request. I guess there aint any textures suitable for a female body builder, hmmm... If any artists are looking at this, there are fifty or so people that might buy a female body builder texture!

I think people just don't understand what you are looking for.  How is a female body builder texture different from any female texture?  Obviously, a body builder has larger muscles, but that's a morph thing, not a texture thing.

I think you might get some useful responses if you were more specific about what you want.  What are you looking for? That oiled-up look?  Tan lines, or lack thereof?  What race/coloring, or does it not matter?

I've been lurking, but I think the request is something obviously in good health.  Et all  wrinkless, without stretch marks, minus signs of aging, etc.

Yes, but just about every Vicky texture out there meets that criteria.  The vast majority are young, healthy, and gorgeous.  It's hard to find one with scars, wrinkles, stretch marks, etc.

I'm not sure but I believe that most bodybuilders oil themselves down before they compete. This gives their bodies an even overall skin tone and allows for better defenition in the creases of their bodies. Any textures would work by adding a darker skin tone and applying a wet or oily look using shader nodes. I'm just not sure exactly how to do it though.

For Wetness - Set the Specular color to white, the value to 1, and poke at the Highlight Size.  Then possibly adjust theSpecular value a little.  If you're feeling zealous put a Glossy node into Specular, or Alternate Specular.  Or check out this thread:

Sorry for the poor wording. Instead of a wet look I meant to say an overall even oily look.

Yeah, I figured Oily.

The Shine, behind the Dissplacement, is still a Principle; just unplug the PoserSurface Dispplacement Node, or Uncheck it from the Render Settings.

This is using Victoria's default mats with some shaders thrown in them mix.  Rendered in DAZ Studio!! 😄

just a bit of info but not exactly what your after:

there are a female body builder resource photos over at http://www.3d.sk but you would have to join there ( not free) and then texture the seam guides yourself, but then you would get the pertruding veins and stuff.

otherwise i think Ramwolff got great results with the default textures.

i haven't looked at the muscle maps i bought yet but would think that you could mix those with the default texture, in your image editing software, and make a bump to show the tension of the muscles in use, just a thought though.

DazStudio!!

It's actually easy to get an oiled effect.  Just turn up the specular till you get it where you want it.

Yup, DAZ Studio!! 😉
