Subject: Apollo Maximus 2007 in Poser 7 -- Does Skin Vue 6 Take It, Or Advice on Textures

norm1153 ( ) posted Sat, 12 May 2007 at 4:40 AM · edited Tue, 19 November 2024 at 4:48 AM

I've just installed Apollo Maximus 2007 and am extremely impressed with it.  If one invests the time, one can create a very good new character, or different aged-male.  It's very well thought out, and detailed.

I have not yet purchased the current Skin Vue (have ver 2 for vue 5i), and am wondering if Skin Vue 6 supports Apollo inside Poser 7, as opposed to Daz Studio.

Also would appreciate advice if anyone has spotted skin textures for the Apollo character.  I didn't find too much at CP yet.

Thanks.

Also a new Merchant Resource kit was just released for him.  Fantastic options!!  You  can create your own characters for personal use, make a for sale package as long as you change things enough to where it's not looking like what's directly in the kit or you can even give the pack you created away as a freebie.....

See the link! Good luck and have fun!! 😄

Yes, the Merchant Starterkit looks interesting.

Thanks for the replies.

SkinVue 6 is only compatible with Daz figures and the efrontier G2 figures currently.  Apollo is not one of the supported figures.  Write the author and ask him, maybe he will do a update.  SkinVue 6 is not tied to poser, so it works with poser 7 apparently from the SkinVue 6 forums posts.

"No, you will not have to upgrade to the Poser 7 plugin. The SkinVue6 Poser plugin is not tied to a version of Poser but rather, a set of Poser characters (e.g. Don, Judy, James, Jessi). I'm working on extending the Poser plugin to include the new G2 Poser characters which will be a free upgrade for SkinVue6 Poser Plugin buyers."

As for skin textures check Anton's webpage.  Anton links to comercial products as well as freebies.  RuntimeDNA has several skin textures as does Renderosity, PoserPros oh and some at rawart's site.  Anton's base Apollo skins are really good, the african american texture included with apollomax 2007 is one of the best in poser.

Apollo support was included in the SkinVue6.2 update, in the DAZ Character plugin (see -> http://www.cornucopia3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4240).
