Subject: What is Ajax's EasyPose?

Angelouscuitry ( ) posted Fri, 11 May 2007 at 3:53 PM · edited Wed, 20 November 2024 at 9:08 AM

I've been holding off getting into it for years.  Having located an EasyPose AngelynaWings.CR2, by Maveris, in the RDNA Free tuffI, I  finally have a nice oppurtunity to learn/practice!

How is it a timesaver?

I see the Part Rotation Parameters are different, but/and th old ones are gone?

What I'm interested in doing is applying the same value through each Like Named Rotation Parameter Part.

I'd be really interested in applying that value through Fraction; so that the first Part would only be Rotated a steady, and/or pathed/curved, degree of the last Part!  Even Ajax's Free Jump Rope Promo looks like ihis is what's happening.  I just tried to DL that, but His DL buttons did'nt work?

Else, I think I may be looking to Python  any suggestions?

An EasyPose figure has dials that affect a chain of body parts, making it easier for the user to pose a rope in coils, make natural looking bends and twists in clothing flaps, pose a chain consisting of dozens of links and so on.

A good example of an EasyPose enabled clothing item is Aery Soul's free V3 Hipcloth. My own V4 Warrior outfit also makes extensive use of EasyPose. All the links of the chains are individual bones and can be posed by themselves, but the fact that the EasyPose parameters have been put in means that the end user can have those chains twist and bend by using a single set of dials on a root body part.

The EasyPose Underground utility sold by Ajax is a program that will help a figure creator to add EasyPose functionality to his/her figure. While it can be done by hand, using a text editor, it means writing lots and lots of entries in a CR2 file. The EasyPose utility will write those for you, which saves many hours of hand editing CR2 files.

The primary target audience of the EasyPose Underground utility is content creators. An end user could use EasyPose Underground to add EasyPose functionality to existing figures too, but in my opinion a figure that could benefit from EasyPose functionality should have EasyPose built in by the creator, not added after the fact by the end user.

I bought EasyPose Underground a couple of weeks ago, and it saved me many hours of work when creating the V4 Warrior set.
So EasyPose Underground is a timesaver - for content creators. Not for end users.

The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter

Easypose Underground is a figure creation utility. it allows you to hide/show dials, build erc relationships, and easily build easypose code, rather then do it by hand.

If you are not actually creating poser figures, I don't think there would be much use for it fo ryou, however is you are, it is invaulable!

*" EasyPose parameters have been put in means that the end user can have those chains twist and bend by using a single set of dials on a root body part."
*Hmm, that's just what I'd hoped for?  I do'nt see any such thing on these Free EP Anglyna Wings.

How do I do it, anyone able to test, and/or show?

You'll have to look at the wings, and see where the easypose controls are.. since they can be placed anywhere, they could have been placed in a ghost body part, or might even have dual setups in each wing.

Also a easypose figure needs to sometimes be modeled properly in order for it to work... you can't just toss easypose code in to a mesh that doesn't bend properly, or won;t really benefit from easypose additions.

Also, the easyposed wings from rnda requires the installed product wings.. it's in the readme file included with it. basically they added easypose to a wing set product here that did not original have easypose built in.

Yes, I have Sharkey's wings.  The .CR2 loades, saves, open fine from my runtime.

BRB with a Ghost Part report.

I just tried the jump rope download and it seemed to work fine for me.  I don't know what went wrong when you tried it.  Maybe it'll work when you try again.

The site below is old and I haven't edited it in about a million years, but the EasyPose posing turorials are still current if you want to have a look at those:

As svdl and Gareee said, you wouldn't want to buy EasyPose Underground unless you are making figures yourself.

....but if you are making figures yourself, it's an invaluable tool! ;)

Ajax - You and I were talking about an Angelyna EasyPose, about a month ago.  You said it was trouble, but to check back with you now.  What is Maveris' contribution to that, could you check it out to see it really works?

Gareee ( ) posted Fri, 11 May 2007 at 5:28 PM

Wouldn't asking Maveris over at rdna make the most sense, since she created that?

Not if EasyPose was originated by Ajax..?

Gareee ( ) posted Fri, 11 May 2007 at 5:51 PM

Easypose Underground is the utility created by Ajax.. Maveris used his utility (most likely) to add easypose tech to the wings.

It's kind of liek asking E Froantier to troubleshoot a figure issue.. just because they made poser does not mean they know what the creator had in mind.

Plus, if Ajax does not have the wing product, he could not check it out to see if it work properly or not.

I don't have it either, so I can't look at them to see if it works or not.

If you ever have a question about a product or freebie, it always makes the most sense to ask the creator.

Garee, you should read more of this post.

I said Ajax and I were talking about Angelyna last month.

He has Angelyna Wings.

He'd started working long before I asked hime about this, in March.

His reason for not being able to point me to where is EP Anglyna Wings were, when I asked him, in Febuary, was becasue he's remembered where he had trouble.

No he was'nt aware Maveris has used his application, to complete a project he'd also started.  Maveris' EasyPose Angelyna Wings may help Ajax finish the Angelyna Wings project, he Himself..., started(with his on application)  Seeing that EasyPose is Ajax's, he may have even more to add to Maveris'?  Let's see?

And then we'll definately have something to mention to Maveris, if she indeed needs to become the center of my attention, and our next Special Guest Star!

Good luck to you!

Thanks for your help!

Ajax ( ) posted Fri, 11 May 2007 at 7:07 PM

I'd love to take a look at what Maveris has done, but I really don't have time at the moment.  I'm working to some very tight deadlines and it's not leaving me with much time for anything else.

My problem with the Angelyna wings has always been that I didn't think ERC was enough to do a decent job of posing them.  It does help, but the linear relationships you get from ERC aren't enough to handle motion as complex as wing motion.  The new Dependent Parameters in Poser 7 could potentially do it.  Dependent Parameter support is one of the things being added to EasyPose Underground 2, so when that's finished I'll be in a better position to take a look at building my own EasyPose add on for the Angelyna wings.   Realistically, I don't think I'll have time to look at the Angelyna wings again until October, when I get back from my overseas trip.

Easypose Underground 2. Any idea when? I was kind of holding off buy the first version when you mentioned updating when you could.

Ajax ( ) posted Sat, 12 May 2007 at 6:21 AM

It'll be out before the end of the month, at RDNA.  In fact, I really ought to take the first version off the market.  I'll do that.  Thanks for reminding me.

Cool, I'll be looking out for it.

In the mean time, I'll be taking sentence structure lessons after reading my last post. Think I was a bit tired?
