It is hard to imagine that one can get confused by such flowing prose, it would have been better to "call a spade a spade"  I guess the point he makes is that copyright has a limited span of life? As such, at present 70 years from the death of the holder... Perhaps like the rules that seem to apply to differing countries re copyr5ight, he holds similar illusions that property is safe from the state... Wish that were the case in my country...

And some of the worse offenders are the BBC in the UK. If you ever send any images to them be aware that you will be treated as gifting them. Even if they are used on the news internet pages you will get nothing.They rely on the amateur to fill up their stock library in the same way that a regional newspaper  Aberdeen Press and Journal does in my area. They pay nothing at all and wont even return pics.
