Hey Vue'ers

Just thought you might like to know that Maya 8.5 PLE and Vue 6 PLE are being given away for nothing, zip, nada and I'm not sure about Vue but you don't have to be a student either, I'm just downloading Maya now 230mb, very few restrictions and not to be used for commercial use, I'm sure you know the link to E-on.

I feel a bit gutted about Vue though, still!

All the best

The Vue PLE is just the same, no restrictions in time, nor render size, Yoy can save your work too. Only renders are watermarked, and your scenes/objects can't be loaded into any fully licenced Vue 6, and I think it's the same with Maya ( was in the past anyway).

Hey bruno021

Looks like your right about the watermark, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is, still at least you don't have to be a student LoL.

Vue 6 PLE lets you 30 non watermarked renders if I remember right, only then the size is limited to 640x480 for these 30 renders.
But, no, no need to be a student :)

Actually it's 30 days of no watermarks up to 800x600.  But you can still render up to maximum with watermarks, anytime.

On all pics there is a Vue6 logo in the bottom right corner - including the first 30 days.  Plan your pics accordingly.

I think PLEs are a  great idea and so good for letting us try it out before plunking down a month's rent on some 1s and 0s.

Yes,a very good idea indeed, because 30 days demos  are just not long enough if, like many people, you have a life!

First of all, forgive any typos but I just got home from having yet another surgery on my elbow so typing is iffy at best ...

That said, I downloaded th V6 Inf PLE and have been playing with it.  What I have learned is that I will definitely be upgrading to Inf from Esprit because of all the nifty features.

These types of programs are great because they give us a way to learn at our own speed rather than using a time-limited version.

I tried to get it to try out but it tells me my Zip code, that I've had for over 35 years is not right. LOL.

I can't even find the right link to e-mail them to find out what gives. I think it's the, hide the right mail addy so we don't have to answer anyones questions ploy, again. LOL.

I downloaded Maya and I am surprised, it's MUCH easier then i thought it would be, i find it easier and more comfortable then Blender.

A really great idea are the video tutorials, its like turning on the TV and someone teaches you the basics.

Thanks for the link!!!!!
