Randy,
Well, seeing as how the original is at 800x600, what we're seeing here isn't exactly representative so it would be hard to say if you've been looking at it too long or not (something I think everyone here understands completely) .... So, okay, maybe it isn't just your imagination and it is grainy, being a bit of a newbie to Vue I'm not sure but wouldn't a very slight gaussian blur take care of the grain (or some similar Photoshop postwork)?

Hi, I am having trouble with a scene I am reworking and rendering. Certain parts of the water reflections appear grainy to me and I dont know why. Or maybe I have just been staring at it too long :-) I have read several posts here about grain and thought I tried most of the tips to fix the problem. The scene is rendered in Vue 6 Infinite, standard atmoshpere, atmosphere light set at 100% sunlight. Sun has no lens flare and shadows at 80%. Rendering test at 800x600 using User settings advanced quality settings slider at 46%, texture AA settings set at optimized, subrays min 8 max 12, quality threshold slider at 100%. I think thats everything. Any suggestions? I want to do a much larger render for print and that is going to take a very very long time to do so I want to nail this problem now. Thanks for any help or advice! Randy
