Im about to install windows 2000 on my machine, Does anybody here use win2000? Im just wondering if Bryce 4 runs under 2000 it should be able to, I just wanted to know from someone who is running win2000... thanks itsrainin

Yes, Bryce does run under Win2000. Haven't had any issues, fewer if anything.

oh, so its pretty stable, thats good, hopefully 3dmax and my other software will do the same, Thanks, i just wasnt sure if bryce would run on 2000 because its so heavily based off of NT. itsrainin

3DSMAX will also run very good ;)

I use win2k all the time with Bryce - very stable. Make sure to install service pack 1. Fewer problems than with NT. I wouldn't touch '98 with a ten-foot pole :-D

Has anyone tried to cross load Win2000 with win 98? I currently have Win 98 but would like to load Win 2000 so I can do 3D stuff on a more reliable platform. However, I'd like to keep my Win 98 so that I can continue to play the ganes I like to play. (Which don't run under Win NT/2000. If any one's tried to cross load, please let me know how you did it. I'd like it to prompt me with what OS I'd like to use. Thanks for any help! I don't have a problem with Bryce, but Win 98 sure wreaks havok on 3D Max...

you should be able to run a dual boot, where it will ask for win98 or win2000, my machine boots win2k or linux, try splitting your hard drive into 2 partitions and instal one os on each itsrainin

I have looked at Microsoft web site and you can run Windows 2000 Pro in "dual boot" with Windows 95/98/98SE/Millenium and even Windows NT 4. I have been running Windows 2000 for about 3 months now and everything is working smoothly. Pleiades.

If you want a dual boot machine, make sure you install Win98 first and then 2K. Otherwise, Win98 will louse up your Win2K settings and you'll probably end up trying to find a bootable floppy with FDISK on it.
