Subject: Plant and Shrubbery PSD's?

korstemplar ( ) posted Sat, 26 May 2007 at 7:05 AM · edited Fri, 16 August 2024 at 3:45 AM

Hi everyone, I've been all over the web trying to find some freebie plant, shrubbery and just general flora PSD's. Does any know where I might be able to pick up a couple or so? Thanks for any input about this. Cheers ;o) Michael

There are lots of free brushes available, here and on other sites.  Google 'free photoshop brushes'.  You're bound to find plants and shrubs.  Also, I have seen some for sale in the marketplace here.  Pretty inexpensive, too.  -Drew

Thanks Drew for your reply. But I'm really looking for PSD's. I have tons of plant, tree and flora brushes. Cheers ;o) Michael

I can't remember where I got them, but google Hortus plants. They aren't PSDs, but they are TIFFs. and using channels, you can make upacity and bump maps etc. It's work but they come out quite well. I don't know of ANY PSDs out there. I make most of my opacity mapped plants and trees by getting large format photos and using the lassoo selection tool painstakingly cut them out, etc etc.

I honestly cannot recall where i got them. It may have been on a free DVD from 3D World or something.

Imager, are you sure those can be used without Bryce though?  The way I understand it is the trees are 2D, but set up to be used in Bryce, they're flat planes with textures of trees on them and are offered this way just so renders in bryce won't take as long.  Unless one can use the textures by themselves without needing to use bryce, I don't know if that's possible, not really familiar with Bryce I don't use it an awful lot.

Lucie,  to be honest, I don't know.  Just saw that it was 2d plants and trees, so I thought I'd pass along the link.   Hope it's helpful.  -Drew
