Subject: Photoshop CS3 and 3D. What does this mean?

Hi: I have seen some comments on PS CS3 and 3D. I have CS2. I do not understand what Adobe means about importing 3d into Photoshop. I use CS3 all the time for my Poser renders. What's so great about CS3?

Gonna be a bit before I can afford it but my understanding is that it allows for the importing of a variety of 3D formats which, if I recall right, can also be rotated and positioned within PhotoShop. Sounds like they're 'borrowing' or maybe have licensed the code from "Verdant" as they have a" Model Shop "plugin for PSCS that does this already,  tho I can't give a testimonial as it costs and I can't afford...LOL,within PSCS.. ...

 

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound

it means that cs3e can import 5 or 6 3d formats, e.g. wavefront.obj files which have UVmapping and textures. one can edit the textures in cs3e, save the changes, then view the model with the changed texture in cs3e's 3d viewer. n.b.: ordinary cs3 can't do this.

Anyone knows if the 3D compatibility/plugin of Adobe Photoshop CS 3 also can understand formats of Maya 8.5 ? Forward and Backward?

I have Photoshop7 and Photoshop Elements 4 -- what is the difference between those and PCS3??

Rhiana as I understand it, the 3D (the mesh) does not go "back and forth" that goes one-way and is unalterable. Its the textures that you can 'take back' to the 3D app.
