I have and use it. It does traditional cell and cutout/peg animation. But is laking in some things that you would need to spend another $2.700 more for the next next version up.
I would suggest Anime Studio Pro from EF/CP. First it is only $129 on sale till end of month for anyone that owns any EF software. It uses bones for rigging like what we are used to. It also imports .OBJ into it. ToonBoom can't do that. There are other differences. But try the demos of both and see for yourself.
If I had known more about this before I got into ToonBoom, I think I would have gone with Anime Studio first. As it is, I will be buying it before the sale ends. Nothing wrong with ToonBoom. I think having both would be a better advantage and I don't think the sale price is going to get much better. I also have some member cash I can use too.
Yes and you can also see his Moho tutorials. BTW Moho is now called Anime Studio.
Don't quote me but I thought I read somewhere that Steve Ryan was part of the anime studio developement team. I think I read that at Toonboom forum. I could have the person mixed up with someone else. I rarly vist that forum, I can usually figure out what I need to do with thw manual.
I agree with beryld about Anime Studio Pro. Some very good work in the forums with it, and many users there are ex toon boom users. I got the free upgrade from Moho when e-frontier partnered up with it, and I've got to get off my lazy butt and learn to use it. To me it seems to offer everything a beginner in 2d animation could possibly need to get his/her feet wet, and with efrontier now handling sales and distribution it leaves the developer free to improve it. It seems like the logical one to learn. JMO.
