And then they could use that interface with the new (multi-)touchscreen in development ;)
Really amazing stuff - although i wonder at the computer power/space needed to get that properly running...

Rich,...I dled their demo and it's an ActiveX control and ran fine on my crummy lil e machine 3.3 celeron with OnBoard Vid and only 512 RAM. The images are collected/harvested from flickr online and their app assembles them. I personally can't wait for this. You could do a whole website with just the one page with this up and wow, would that be cool or what.. ...

I havent really had a look at it Bobby, and i could only find the demo for the Photosynth and not the Dragon software - and it doesnt work on my mum's machine (integrated graphics chip i assume). My concern was with the interface where all that data is shown on one screen, ok they say they just pixel/bandwidth ratio, but from the performance of things like google earth (which is basically the same) when used with the same speed of zooming and moving around i am fairly sure that presentation was on a high grade computer. Also if it isnt just a net thing (which i assume the main thrust is home computing/pro file management) then a 300 Megapixel image as just one part of that "screen" - got to have a massive amount of data storage ability somewhere... and then the read speed/processor/RAM to bring up the increasingly detailed view of that image. Could be wrong and they have come across some new way of programming it all, but from my very (and i have to stress that) limited knowledge of programming, i believe that the speed of doing things like that in this day and age (ie where people have got to the point of extremely efficient code) is only really affected by hardware capabilities.

I'll see if I can find the demo link for ya Rich, I stupidly forgot to bookmark it. It doesn't seem to install the app per se but uploads an ActiveX control that allows playing with the app online. I'm really a dumb shit when it comes to anything on the computer except the apps I use so I really don't know if this accessable more that the one time i tried it...sigh...too old to take in that much new info I guess...LOL

**This is some new image technology. I ain't gonna say anything as I want you to be as gob smacked as I was. Be prepared to sit and view for a while but believe me it's worth it. I dled the demo and it ran fine on my el crappo e machine so most of you folks shold have no problem.**Once in a while I look around,
