Subject: Anyone been to Daz today?

What a surprise! Didn't think I'd like it but it's not bad. For those of you who don't like surprises, they have changed the website quite a bit.

It is different.   But I like it.  And they have Bryce 6 for 19.98?!    When did that start?

That was a quick overturn!  Must have done it correctly and testbedded the site offline - good move. :)
Not sure if I like the 'gypsy woman' staring me down.  ;)  Otherwise interesting.

I tried first thing this moring only to find that the site was down but of course I am on the East coast. I'll have to run over there now and check it out.

Wow, I like it. Very nice. I was a fan of the simple look before, but the new design is nice!

They really need to deal with their download speed, it's crawling for me and yes, I checked another site to be sure it wasn't my connection.

looked.
winced
adblocked all the backgrounds
stopped wincing as the site became readable.

Just told me on the phone that I have to wait for a while to download my items because their website is "extremely slow right now" .
Hummm, maybe they should have tested that....lol

Everything takes getting used to, particularly if you've had it a certain way for a while. I don't dislike it. In fact, it's very attractive but if you want me to come and spend time at your website it needs to be easy on the eyes as well as attractive. I browsed the forums for a while, then had to leave because my eyes were beginning to ache.

I must admit I quite like it. I'm generally one of those people who prefer the simple look to websites, but I think they've done a decent job with this.

I find it hard on my eyes. Actually looking at it created pain behind my eyes :(

I wish they had opted for a more toned down/muted colour that wasn't so bright to look at.

It was eye-searing to me.  I NEVER have looked at a site which caused me phyical pain before.  DAZ did! That was a shocked.  It took me three clicks to browse yesterday--today it took five.

Not good for business to increase the number of clicks to do business by 50%!

The color was as sterile and inviting as a cold ceramic slab in an autopsy room!

From everything I had seen, I was intrigued by the new layout, but from a business standpoint--it was not better from a shopper's perspective.

Eliminating the drop-down menues in favor of tabbed browsing is not good, either.

I reset some of my downloads so I can burn them and never have to go there again.

It reminds me of something a 2 year old might put together because they think it's cool but from a business POV it's not. Nothing like driving your customers away and blinding them at the sametime. Get your sun shades out. You're gonna need them. and dim your monitor so you can see what you're doing.

I'm not sure if I do like it, I like simple websites as well. When I go there I get greated with this message:

*We have detected you are using an older version of Internet Explorer. IE versions prior to 7 have significant flaws, including problems rendering modern graphics and security issues. You can upgrade to Internet Explorer 7 or Firefox, an alternate powerful and fast browser.

Our site should function with IE 5.5 and IE 6, but we recommend an immediate upgrade for the best experience.
*Is DAZ being paid by Microsoft and Mozilla these days? If the side functions well with the older IE versions why the message at all?

Artwork and 3DToons items, create the perfect place for you toon and other figures!

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

I can get used to it...  need to go there more often....

Mozilla is a free ware....  no money...   FireFox is fastly moving into a contender with IE....
I enjoyed and am delighted reading that a site (any) mentioned FireFox as a possibility to browse...

it's alway IE....  yuck!

I am happy that everyone gets to use the browser of their choice.
As an IE 7 user, I see no reason why I should have to change browsers, Free or otherwise, to now view pages that i could read fine two days ago.
The colors are as blinding as High Noon on the Sea near the equator.
Half the buttons are now longer visible to use.
Can no longer upload graphics
Daz originals are now hidden in the mil figures.

The whole site burns my eyes.
I doubt that very much testing was done using a large variety of browsers.

Overall, not an appealing site to go to.

If it had been, someone would have caught these mistakes.

Should have had the "Beta" designation.

I hardly ever go to Daz, much less buy there, and that blast in the face of middle-class ideas of cool will reduce the visits even more.

No loss on either side.

I can see more and more Daz people coming here to get away from the blindness though. I can't get used to it either even though I'm only at my account page. It's still ewwww.

What's with all the extra clicks? Or am I dreaming?

Where's all the frontpage promos? How do you get to see the new products? The merchants should be ticked off more than anyone. No new products on the front? Just a promo of Vickie?
