Excellent work as always, Dr. Geep.

I am trying to think of something clever to say, but it's after 2:00AM here -- not an unusual hour for me.......

........I did hear some strange noises out in the backyard.  I turned on the spotlight, and I saw a plastic-looking cross-eyed blond guy in a suit with a red tie standing out in the middle of the yard.  In my dazed state, it took me a minute to cipher out that he was howling at the moon.

After that, I knew that it was time to go to bed.

However: before turning off the spotlight, I took the time to duly note the harsh shadow which the spotlight caused -- that Guy -- to cast on the grass.

I also noticed that the yard needs mowing.  Spotlights are good for highlighting things like that.  Maybe the guy in the suit will take care of that problem for me overnight.  But I'm not so sure about leaving him in charge of the lawn mower............and besides, the neighbors might object.

What can be wherever you want?  The controls?  Or the spotlights?  Or both?

I'd better go read Dr. Geep's tutorial..............😉

Hi Markus,

Yup, that's your tape measure prop that you have posted in Free Stuff here at R'osity.
Thank you for sharing.  It's very well done. 👍

Th one minor problem for da NSG though ...
... da NaySayGuy can only measure things that are 18, 24, or 36" in length. ... ;=]

Um, ... He hasn't found out the secret ......................................... yet. ... ;=]

Secret? ... *There's a secret?
*Yup, but it's  ................................................... a secret ... so I can't tell you. ;=[

*Now if I can just get da NSG to clean up his "Backyerd" ...........
BTW - Have you been there lately? ... ;=]

LOL Geep!

I had to load my prop & double-check!
The problem with my prop is i couldn't properly find a solution
to unroll it while maintaining precise dimensions??

This was done as request for a friend from a different site...
She just needed a realistic static prop. The 4 preset positions were bonus.

"Modeling is easy.  Poserizing is Hard..." ;-)

Maybe i should write an instruction booklet for NSG... :-O

Regards!

I just wish that you could tell which direction spotlights are aimed.  The next version of Poser should have filled in, colored flaps.

You have a cool site!!!

Indeed Geep!

We are limited only by our own imagination....

Well one could simply parent a simplified cone to the spotlite
& turn it's display to 'Outline mode'...   There might even be a way
to make a Python script that could widen the cone to reflect
the 'Angles' of the Spot automatically?   Just a thought...

Oops!  Sorry Doc!  Didn't mean to steal your 'Spotlite'(Pun intended).

Hi

NoobieJoe here...

I haven't read this tutorial yet (cause I am still reading the DrGeep tut about cartoons), but I did stumble on camera views for spot lights the other day. That was pretty cool. As a second thought I also found a little tool where someone had extended the axis of the x,y, and z on a magnet so that you could actually get an idea of where the center of the mag was in relation to the outside of a solid object. It would be nice if there was a way to turn on the x,y,z lines of a spot light and extend the line straight out the front of the light so that you could see where it is aimed.

YEA ! ! !

Thats it... lights with friggin laser beams... I'll call up mini-me and have him put it together right away..  we will have to pull the laser off the shark.. (silly movie reference, if you don't get it you didn't miss anything)

The other option is to just point the light at an object... BUT I bet that is what the tutorial says.. I will read that one next.

Doc.. YOU are the RULEST !

THANK YOU !

Phuzzie ( ) posted Sat, 16 June 2007 at 12:01 PM

oh,..

P.S.

Drac... I was never bothered by the idea that I am limited by my imagination..
The part that disturbs me is that I might be limited by a lack of imagination.

DRACONIAN ( ) posted Sat, 16 June 2007 at 1:04 PM

Sorry, Doc!

I will refrain from further attempts at humour.  And bit my fingers before typing

Phuzzie, Everyone has imagination.   Imagination is based on our 'perceptions' of
the world around us.  I think we restrict those levels of perception ourselves.
For me, what helped me 'unleash' the dormant imagination inside me, was
to learn "lucid dreaming".  It's basically learning to explore the subconscious
through dreams...  Also, imagination doesn't meaning making amazing pics
or creating amazing creatures.  Imagination can manifest itself through all
aspects of our lifes...

:-)

Doc!  You must forgive my impulses.  My personnal life has change drastically
in the last months.  And i'm in "hyper-sentisitive" mode concerning other's
feelings...  So, i'd rather be safe then ruffle anyone's feathers...

In any case, Glad everything is on an even keel.
I usually try to discover all the secrets to the applications i use myself.
But, i must admit, that i've peeked at your tuts regularly.

Your knowledge of Poser is impressive.  But, it's your ability to make the info
readily & effectively available to others that impresses me the most!

If you ever require anything for your tuts, let me know & shall model it for you!

Regards!

Markus(The retired comedian) ;-)
