Uhhh.... Flashing? I think we'd need more info... Eg. do you mean that the whole screen "Blinks", as-if it had a momentary interruption? Lou.
Edit
I just noticed... sorry... that you are running a DUAL core and 64 bit..... I'm not certain... someone else might have the specific info, but 64 bit may be the problem... I THINK you can set it to run as 32.... wait for someone else who knows more about it, though. Lou

Hi matey, even though it's a x64 bit motherboard etc I am running a dual boot set up.
I render poser 7 images etc in x64 bit enviro and use x32 for gaming etc.
The problem is as you say "Blinking" but when it blinks the screen goes bright white or flashes.
It's wierd and wasn't a problem before. The only difference between this machine is the Duo core as opposed to hyperthread and the twinn graphics cards running in sli mode.

Well, I have a question and didn't know where to go to ask. Newbie, here.
I saw Renderosity has backgrounds for sale. It says 1200 X 900 pixels, with 300 dpi.
Please look at "Old Castles" background or the "Moon" backgrounds.
1. Are these just pictures? Or are they partly 3D?
2. I'm assuming the pixel size then fills the whole screen -- but does it download that size?
3. How do they create these?
4. How is it used? Is it like flat at the back of the scene.
Thanks

Marvlin..., I'd suspect that running in 64 bit is the culprit, but what you describe sounds more like an issue with the cards running in SLI mode, with P7... This is just a guess, here, but I think the "blink" is when data for the screen is supposed to be coming from a source that doesn't have any... you have to remember that P7 was written long before our current tech and, occasionally, needs to be "coddled". try running without SLI... If that doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you..... Also, did you try at the Hardware forum?
flags1... MOST backgrounds will be 2D... used like the backdrop in a movie, or on a theatrical stage... Usually, you populate the scene in front of it, and it'll give you the illusion of "more"..... Example: if you want to have a scene in the mountains, you can rent a Cray... Supercomputer, and render the mountains in realtime.... Literally, create the mountains on a computer, or you can use a background. they are usually imported. My best suggestion would be to ask the vendors... they're usually more than willing to explain things. Lou.

Hi Guys, I have been using P7 now for many years but recently installed it in my new machine (XP home) and it seems to flash everytime I do something.
This is making it unusable, any ideas what is causing it?
