Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 28 11:20 am)
Which coat is that? Knowing that might help because someone who has it might be able to pin point the problem easier.
Also, instead of selecting the body part of the coat, are there any other parts that you can select that might have dials that may help? Open and loosen doesn't really give you much of an option.
If there aren't additional morphs for the coat that you can adjust, it's possible to insert some with "The Tailor" (from Daz). It allows you to add morphs from the figure into the clothing, so if you added some for the hip and parts downward, it might help.
The other option is "Magnet", but that has a steep learning curve and I've given up on them myself. But Dr. Geep has some great magnet tutorials at his site http://drgeep.com/
The only other option I know is to try a different pose, one where the figure is more upright so that the coat doesn't change.
Other than that I don't really know what else to add.
"It is good to see ourselves as
others see us. Try as we may, we are never
able to know ourselves fully as we
are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not
angry with our critics but will take in good
heart whatever they might have to
say." - Ghandi
I was having difficulty posing the Domino for V4 coat quite how I wanted it the other day, so I 'simply' imported the obj for the coat, made sure the figure was in the zero pose in the first frame and the pose I wanted in frame 20 (I always allow ten poses for post-pose drape and wotnot), and added a wind force to interact with the coat. I clothified the coat, making sure it was set to collide against all the relevant other articles of clothing. Then I just ran the cloth simulation, and took a look through frames 20-20 to see which frame was closest to what I had wanted. Here's the finished result:
I'm not claiming this is the greatest example of how to do this, or even suggesting this is a final piece -it's just a character study I did as a doodle, which I might develop a little further into a proper image if the inspiration strikes. But I just thought I'd give one option on how to get coats and long clothes to do what you want them to.

Hi,
I love Poser, but one of the things that frustrate me about it is how picky posing can be. In this pic, I am trying to move the coat (which is in many sections) infront of the legs . . . and it is a nightmare. I adjust the three open morphs a bit - and not much happens. I have tinkered with it for an hour now - and this is as good as it gets. Now, it could be I am not aware of what I should be doing. . . but it is not obvious and at this point, has absoluely nojoy left in it. I like the character I created and wanted to do this pic. . . but fussing with this coat makes me want to just scrap the whole thing. AHhhh!
Can you help? What am I doing wrong? Why is this so darn fussy?
Thanks for any pointers. (Parmeters for the "Right Tail 1" are in the pic)
Tim
