Subject: Thanks Fred and Ranchcomputing :)

I thought it would be  fair to publicly thank Fred and his team at Ranchcomputing on this forum.

Thanks to them, I could have this image published in 3D World magazine (#92 july)
http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1407097

Without  their precious help I would not have been able to render the image before the tight deadline in the resolution and quality required for printing purposes.
Subsurface scattering combined with displacement mapping on some objects
litterally freezed my machine !!!
The expected render time was of several dozens hours on it, the Ranch rendered it in barely ONE hour !!

many thanks to you guys !!!  :-)

Hi,

That is a really nice image, well done, really like those worms :)

Out of interest what was the resolution and quality you had to use?

Thanks
Jon

Thanks Jon1611 :-)

the resolution used was 2000 X2300 ...
the print in the mag is really small, so this resolution was probably exceeding the needs but that is what we settled for...

Ah ok, always wondered what type of image sizes mags required, but again, I looked at the full page image, really nice, like the materials used and those worms are great :)

Hi Polax,

I am glad the RANCH contributed to your project being published. It's certainly a great image!
