Again, I guess it is up to me to get this going...I am not sure where everyone is. Remeber that the first person to post after me starts the next SIMON on Monday. 1 entry per person please. Show me some technology -- new. old, shiney, grungy -- it doesn't matter. This is one of the products my company sells, pre-racked headends for Satellite TV reception.

Hi tech water drop dispenser in low res.![](http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/art/emoticons/mad.gif)  My working Rube Goldberg.

MrS, guess with that technology the jet it flies itself and leaves the pilot with plenty of time to catch up on the news.

Someone claiming to be **TwoPynts** asked us,

OK ... this is the File Server / Web Server in my kitchen.

...

No, it's not currently working in that capacity.

Actually, it's a recent garage sale purchase that I will try to sell on eBay.
This a SAG Electronics file server (it's the size of an under cabinet
refrigerator), Pentium III 600 MHz, 512MBy, 2 IDE drives, 2 SCSI drives,
4 SCSI controllers, dual power supplies, 3 case exhaust fans.  It is
about 8 to 10 years old -- just old enough that it will be difficult to get
an additional processor so that I can upgrade it to be a dual processor
system.

How much did I pay for it, you wonder ... sorry, the price i paid is too low
for me to mention here.  LOL.

Someone claiming to be **TwoPynts** asked us,

OK ... these are some modems (the bottom 3 devices: 19 inch rack-mount
units with 8 modems per case, that is) that were very useful in the 1980's ---
they had a rated speed of 2400 bps on an ordinary dial-up connection!!!

Nowadays, they wouldn't make very good doorstops.  LOL In fact, they
don't even make good boat anchors.  LOL

In summary, they are current era technology, but obsolete.

OTOH, my previous image (File Server in my Kitchen) is current era
technology ... but not current technology.

IOW, if I paid the postage, I might be able give the modems to a science
or computer museum.  OTOH, I will probably be able to sell the file server
or as parts.

p.s. these old modems are kept quite safe in my dungeon.  (meets the
grungy criteria).  LOL
