Subject: Where are my props?

Torulf ( ) posted Thu, 05 July 2007 at 2:59 PM · edited Fri, 20 December 2024 at 11:56 AM

I have poser7 sr2. I have import several props imported as obj or 3ds and saved them in the prop library. But then I load the props nothing happens, but in the list of things in the document window its said to be that prop. Older props imported in P6 before upgrade works well and so do also new props imported as poser files. What to do? Grateful for help.

According to the parameter dials, when the prop is loaded and not visible, where is it, in terms of X, Y and Z ttranslation?

If you select the top camera, move it out to 1000 per cent, or similar, and then increase the size of the loaded prop by something fairly drastic, can you see the prop then?

If it's a small prop and it appears centred and if there is already something there, the prop won't be visible until it is moved, but that, of course, was true before SR2, as well.   I applied SR2 a while back and I haven't noticed a problem with vanishing props.   I have imported the odd obj since then, although probably nothing in 3DS format.

Yes, you might have a placement problem happening and/or a size issue (either too large or too small). When you import it place it on the floor at center stage and then you know where to look for it, size it and place it where you want and then resave over the old and when you bring it up next time it should be right where you want it. 😉
