THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Dear Rochr - The Block tut

FranOnTheEdge ( ) posted Tue, 19 June 2007 at 2:08 PM · edited Thu, 12 December 2024 at 1:53 PM

Love your stuff Rudy, so I wanted to see how you do it - which is why I just got your "The Block" tut from Daz, but I'm having a couple of problems, 1 the corner pavement is too high compared to the straight pavers, and 2) the instructions for moving the corner curb into position do not work.

It looks like the image of the settings for the curb changes has accidentally been replaced by a copy of the settings for the last instruction...

So what are the correct instructions for this?

The way he's posed there gave a different meaning to, "boned."

Hi Fran.  Is the tutorial for this image:

http://www.rochr.com/Cubic.html

If so I might have the tutorial printed in a magazine that I can check and see if the instructions are different.

I could be very wrong but I think Rochr has moved onto Cinema4D you can see from he's online gallery that he gradually has done more work in Cinema4D.

Gog ( ) posted Fri, 06 July 2007 at 4:22 AM

Rudy has moved on to C4D, but he has had some tuts posted / published in the not too distant past for Bryce, he still pops in here now and then, and I for one still regard him as a bryce guru....

I just don't use bryce that much myself lately.....

If you check he's BIO page, he does mention that he stared with Bryce and pushed it to its limits so hes now on Cinema 4D.

Hi guys.

Sorry Fran for not responding earlier, it has been some extremely busy last couple of weeks and a job with tight deadlines.(still is)
I have the scene and tutorial on one of my backup disks here. I´ll see if i can find it and give you an answer. It does sound strange.

It´s true that i rarely use Bryce these days, but as for reaching its limits, i was more referring to my limits rather than the softwares. :)
It´s just a lot quicker to model what i need with Cinema.

But with that said, the commission i´m working on now will have quite an amount of models made with grayscales and Bryce´s terrain editor in it, so i haven´t abandoned Bryce completely. It still is one of the best editors available. :)

Hey there Pidjy, long time no seen. :)

Unfortunatly i´m under NDA and can´t reveal anything about the project, but i´ll post the scene once everything is released.
With a little luck, this one may show up on the big screen as well. ;)

On the big screen?? Well i'm sure it will be!

Do you work in a company or for your own?

Do you still play music?

Many questions hu?

Still a freelancer and still keep turning down job offers. Suits me the best. 😄

CG and the house pretty much take up most of my time, but with the house completed, i´m actually thinking of getting myself some equipment and start making some music again. Most likely with a Virus TI and VST as a core.
Sadly i sold all my keyboards a long time ago. A bad move from my part.

Yes the Virus is a good Synth, I don't have any hardware synth but VSTi (free) with a 5 octaves masterKeyboard (cheap but enough for me)

If you got some time, just take a look ( or a ear ) at my myspace page.

This is a try at some Electronica/rock/gotic kind of music... really far from the Irish music style I was playing some time ago ;-p

Don't you have any webpage with some musical stuff?

Rochr ( ) posted Mon, 23 July 2007 at 11:43 AM

downloading as we speak

I´ve tried some different styles as well, from electronica to drum&bass.

I´ll see if i can upload some of the old stuff to my webpage. I have a lot of tracks on minidisc here, just need to find a cable to get them into the pc.(something i should´ve done ages ago)

Gotta warn you though, it´s non-commercial stuff. So no Britney Spears.

Pidjy thats kinda cool stuff! You should check out breakcore, its a mix between drum&base, break, jungle, hardcore, rock, metal, etc. it basically throws loads of stuff together! Its much harder then this track u made (some say it makes slayer sound like a bunch of wusses) but its also got the electronics meets rock stuff goin on!

You could also try... Third Zombie if u wanna get into the erie sounds area a bit more ;-)
So, which are your sources for the rock samples? Something sounds familiar about it!

"which are your sources for the rock samples" .. the rock samples? I don't use samples (lol) and I play the guitare on every tracks.  Maybe you are talking aubout the song "Luv like blood" ?  It's a cover of Killing joke's song that was released in the early 80th.

I'm gonna check out that Breakcore style you'r talkin' about ;-p

Rorch you don't play Britneeeeeeeey ???????.... too bad! I'm sure you are really good looking with some make-up! lol

Cheers my friends!

Hi Rudy, nice to see you're still around (I don't count C4D) - this is where it's at after all.

I do understand about deadlines, I'm on one myself at college doing a dvd for a leaving staff member.

So anytime you can sort out the glitch in the tutorial, or maybe tell me what I've done wrong to get it so wrong...

I havent sold all my hardware, just retired them to the basement.  I'm completely virtual right now.

Had a Listen to "SoundFace" and I like it very much... we share some of the same fav. bands as well.

I cant remember if I've posted my link before.

Just a couple of things I was messing around with.  I hope to record more stuff for 2007.
