What program is needed to make video tutorials like this?

http://www.philc.net/magTut1.swf

It doesn't look like  a video camera is sitting in front of the computer screen. It looks like it's been recorded live from within the computer somehow.

Here's one I recently found that's new to me. It's called Screencast-O-Matic and you can save the videos in .mov format. www.screencast-o-matic.com/

I've downloaded the demo for Camtasia. I really like that one! It's expensive though :(  So I'll have to hurry up and make my tutorials in the 30 day demo period.  But it's on my wishlist to buy that's for sure. It's very easy to use.

There's a free (and open source) program called CamStudio. See attached link.

the benifits of camtasia studio is that its an all in one solution, from screen capture, to an excellent timeline editor, to voice over, and subtitling, to outputting in multiple formats. its an expensive program but really the best for video tutorial production. I tried a bunch of the free ones before breaking down and getting camtasia studio and found the free ones crashed far too often (camstudio is actually a very old version of camtasia).
