Our local photo club in Rochester, Mn has been invited to display some pictures at the local theater that put on plays. The play will be A Christmas Story. I have not heard of this one .  It will run from Oct or Nov thru Dec. 

A quote on the story "Ralphie, a young boy growing up in the '40's, dreams of owning a Red Rider BB gun. He sets out to convince the world this is the perfect gift. But along the way, he runs into opposition from his parents, his teacher, and even good 'ol Santa Claus himself. Written by Angela Anuszewski"

For themes all we have come up with is pictures of the actors rehearsing, but if they do not allow us to photograph them I am at a loss.  We also discussed doing summer pictures. We do not think we would have time to do winter pictures as the play starts in Nov or Oct and runs thru Dec. 

I would like to take any ideas back to the group by Aug 7th.

Any ideas for a theme that would have something to do with the play or what ever?

That leg lamp is pretty iconic of that movie, and also the scene of the tongue stuck to the lamp post. I will think on it and get back to you if I come up with something. But TRY to get shots of the actors rehearsing.

If you haven't heard of it, then the best thing would be to rent the movie if you can and watch it. That way you can get a better idea of what it's about. It's one of my fav Christmas movies to watch. :) 

Other that that, yeah, that leg lamp is pretty important, and the tongue being stuck to the flag pole......santa of course, oh, santa puts a big boot in the kid's face to push him down a slide, that would be a picture you could do.....the bottom of a big black boot. lol

lol...great movie...two things,,,"You'll shoot your eye out, you'll shoot your eye out...:" and DON'T poke your tounge out near metal poles in winter lol.
