Thanks for the comments, everyone. I appreciate them.
As for a sequel, probably not -- at least for a while. My partner and I have started a new project using the same techniques (though looking a bit more "cell shaded"). This will be 7 or 8 short films, all of which build together to tell one story, resulting in a feature length project.
I'm sure I'll be popping in periodically with updates and with questions!

Hi, all --My partner just posted a short film I created about a year ago on YouTube. It's linked here:

All of the character animation was done in Poser, imported to and rendered in Carrara. I used some stock Daz characters and built morph targets in Carrara. Mimic Pro was used for the lip-synch. I built all of the spaceships, interiors and alien planetscapes in Carrara. Eric Winemiller's excellent toon!pro was used in the rendering process.
I also used AfterEffects, Photoshop, Particle Illusion, Adobe Audition (for sound editing) and Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing. I composed and peformed the score using Sonic Home Studio.
I made Alone in six weeks for a short film competition, which I won. The rules for the competition were that the film had to include a spaceship, a character of interest to a gay or lesbian audience, and the following line of dialogue: "Telecommunicating Across the Universe."
Check it out. Hope you enjoy it!
