davo ( ) posted Wed, 23 May 2001 at 12:50 PM

why my dear friend, you can purchase it right here in the renderosity Marketplace :-) It's real cheap. Davo

You're too kind Davo. Fett, If you want the file, I suggest you buy it legally from davo... Davo's a hell of nice guy and is a blast to deal with. Doug Sturk

And quite the wonderful nassssty little critter it is, too. You must buy one! :-) Mark

alright thanks for the info

davo ( ) posted Wed, 23 May 2001 at 2:49 PM

Thanks Jango for getting the face hugger :-) I've got lots of goodies at www.beyonbent.com if you looking for good deals on prices on stuff like I sell. If you like sci-fi stuff, take a look at my Dreadworks and Total Madlab packages. Thanks again, Davo

The whole package CD is a real bargain. You get lots of nasty posable critters, tons of scifi props and some other nifty things. And the creatures a very well modelled with low polygon counts and great textures. I think this is a must have CD for anyone doing slimy scifi creature stuff.

sturkwurk ( ) posted Wed, 23 May 2001 at 7:51 PM

I'll second that Mason, Davo's stuff is incredible... now if the cd just came with something to free up more time for me to play with the meshes? Can you work on that Davo? Doug

I came, I rendered, I'm still broke.

davo ( ) posted Wed, 23 May 2001 at 11:04 PM

heh heh...sorry Doug, I'm still trying to figure that one out for myself, in fact, I've tried to figure it out so hard that I have this strange twitch in my left eye... Thanks for the kind comments Mason and Doug...now...what to do next, what to do next.... any suggestions...muahh...haaa haaa haaa..... Davo

Hey, Davo, since you're here, I have something to show you and a question to ask. I'm playing around with your Dreadworks CD-Rom (which I really love -- great work) -- but every so often I encounter some odd polygon "holes". Take a look at the doors in this image and can you explain why I'm encountering that weird polygonal "tear" in the left door? It's a straight render in Poser with nothing fancy going on. John

Here's another one. What are those funny little open "squares" in the big round orange objects up high? Also, in the b.g., you can see another view of that weird left door. These are minor quibbles. Overall I love the work you've done. I'm just curious as to whether I'm doing something wrong or not. John

Hey everybody, Davo's Face hugger is excellent and a BIG Alien fan like me has everything available for Poser.....I created some free poses and an animation for this critter a while back. It used to be available on the PropsGuild. If someone is looking for it and it's no longer available email me at: krel@infi.net and I'll make sure they're available somewhere.....or email them to you..... Krel

John, This is a very strange anomoly indeed, I've been up for a couple hours trying to duplicated the error, but I cannot, here is a simple test render that I have done. Are you rendering this in Poser or another program? I haven't heard anyone else mention this error :-( Doug, have you had this error? See images above by John. Davo

jjsemp ( ) posted Thu, 24 May 2001 at 2:34 PM

Davo, It's a pure Poser render all the way. I should mention that I've also got the Pro-Pack installed (but I haven't installed the latest Pro-Pack patch yet -- I didn't want to encounter any new problems in the middle of a project). These are two frames rendered from animation sequences that I've done. I'm using an AMD 900 mhz computer with Windows 2000, 256 meg ram, Nvidia Riva TNT-2 display card, etc. For the record, I purchased your Dreadworks CD right after you released it. Hey, even if we can't solve this, at least we've had another opportunity to show the world your fine work ;-) John

davo ( ) posted Thu, 24 May 2001 at 3:19 PM

John, thanks for the kind comments :-) My guess is that it is a Pro Pack issue, those are actual figures, not props, and a lot of people have mentioned holes in their geometries with the Pro Pack. I do think there is a work-around, you may want to ask others. Good luck, and btw, cool images :-) Davo
