Not a lot going on in this forum so I figured I would make a new thread chronicling my office scene creations.  This first post will be editing with links to renders of any new stuff I make for it.  Of course everything is open to suggestions for improvement.  I am in no way a Blender expert and would appreciate any expert advice.  I would also like to thank reddog for all the invaluable assistance he has given since I joined the R'osity community.

Everything is modeled in Blender and rendered in Daz.

Now for the links
Walls-I am going to enlarge the room.  I just did this as a basic setup for the render: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v233/molina00/Office-WIP/walls.png

Desk Lamp-with bump maps applied to the decorated part of the stand and the shade: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v233/molina00/Office-WIP/DeskLamp.png

Hey, that stuff is looking really good.  :)

Your lamp turned out very nice.

I think my favorite is your cabinet.  I like the dark wood you select.  Great job.

Thanks a lot, and thanks to you on the lamp.  I know I never would have figured that out myself.

I think the cabinet might be my favorite too.  I was going for kind of a dark, subdued look for the whole office theme so I thought the wood was nice.

That's looking very nice, I like the wood.  I'm not sure about the glass on the cabinet, but it will be easier to see that when everything is together in the room, I guess.

You're really moving along. looks nice.
What seems odd to me on the cabinet.  All the wood grain goes in the same direction.  Shouldn't the upright's have the wood grain going up and down?

Just something that stuck out to me.  Still, it's a lot better than I can do.

Thanks.
You're probably right about the up and down parts.  I just applied the same texture to the whole thing and didn't map the uprights separately.  Maybe I'll get around to going back and fixing that.

I like the lamp, too. But you probably need a higher color value on the cabinet and bookshelf.

It is better to do one thing well, than to do many things and excel at nothing.

I'm not sure what you mean by a higher color value.  Can you please elaborate on this?
