Is it possible to import the charcters from games E.G. Lara croft from Tomb raider Legend/Anniversary?

would it have to importinto another program first like maya or 3d max!?

i heard Crystal Dynaics who make tomb raider now use 3D max. would the models be in the game directory!?

Aside from the copyright / licensing legal issues ....

Games typically use proprietary formats for their geometry, and the files are often packed together.  You'd need some means to unpack the content to get at the individual files, then have an application that can read and convert those formats to something Poser-compatible.

And it isn't just the geometry.  You may well need to convert the textures and other maps, also, if they aren't merely using JPEG.

Tomb Raider is a long-lived and popular franchise, and I recall level editors, ripping tools, and various custom graphic hacks being devised for earlier titles in the series.  Your best bet is to browse through the various fansites to see if any mods or "total conversions" are in development.

Try tombraiderforums.com for starters.

EF isn't too interested in working with game content, or you'd have support for DirectX animation like many other animation apps have.

you can create the game character with one of the many male and female meshes for poser
Lara lookalike is at animotions.com look for project lara
the other final fantasy characters were out by REMC but i believe his site is inactive now..

this is poser's function to imitate (no pun intented  )

unless there is a reason you have to have the actual game character
there is no need

You might as well PAY attention, because you can't afford FREE speech
