Well, I had to try this and hopefully it's an improvement. Baggy eyes and gray begone! Perhaps I did too much airbrushing and lost detail. However, I do look a few years younger! LOL I couldn't figure out how to get the shine out of my forehead between my hair without messing up the detail of my hair. This was a first for me in playing with channels. I used a combination of a desaturated layer and bumped up the red channel. This is also a first in being brave enough to share a photo of myself online ...

Or a tissue paper..... :) For some reason I can't view your images, LisaB :(( I haven't had this problem in anybody else's topics, but for some weird reason my computer doesn't seem to like your .jpg pics. I'm trying to fix it though...at the moment all I can see is a big red X and I'm pretty sure you don't look like that :-))

I used to get the cosmic X all of the time. I can't exactly rmember the solution but I think it may be related to the size of the file. Try purging the temporary internet files. Lisa. You Retouched photo looks fine. If you are really worried about the "shine" on your nose, cheek, and forhead try digitally "burning" the offending areas. I would suggest that you do that on a seperate layer though. Another alternative is to clone brush the colors between your left cheek and your nose. However you may then have to play with the brightness a little. Bsteph

I love smiling faces S--it looks fine--the burning on an adjustment layer may do the trick as Bsteph says.

I'll leave the tips to the people who know! Nice, subtle changes. (I tried masking tape suck over the flash - took a pic, then another layer ditto etc, until I realised my damn camera must have been compensating exposure on the light available. Clever, if it does, but it's something I'm gonna have to learn. Out taking some pics today in the woods, and the exposure crept up long enough to allow shake/blur to occur. Gonna have to start using the tripod more!)

Shine is kind of hard to remove, without removing details. If you have time, try what Bsteph said, duplicate layer and work with it (try burning, "highlights"-selected in burn options), then, erase places you dont want to edit (hair, with small brush) and simply merge down. And, try this with photoshop. Filter->noise->median->0,5..1,5. .n

But one thing is, your eyes....shining, smiling....beautiful eyes...
