Subject: Anyone know where I can find of a fully posable reallistic T Rex?

I already saw the one at DAZ3D site and although it would probably do the job, I was hoping for a higher resolution texture. with realistic detail. If you have this model and have the 'Tex Rex'
expansion as well, could you please show me an example with a close up shot thrown in?
It would be greatly appreciated.   Ed

To some extent it depends what you mean by "realistic". Ideas about what T-rex would have looked like have changed a lot in the last few years, from the upright  shape, to the "giant turkey" look.

I've even seen serious suggestions that it would have had feathers!

Which look did you have in mind?

Still some debate about the feathers, since no fossil feathers were ever found with T.Rex remains.  The giant turkey is quite apt, though, since it's more or less accepted that dinosaurs didn't die out but instead became smaller creatures to cope wth the problem of a reduced food supply then grew feathers to help with insulation.  Some "experts" even believe the Tyrant King, the lord of all predators eventually became...

The chicken.

Well, all I know is Digital I won some kind of museum scientific award on his Rex character, and if it's good enough for the scentific community, it's good enough for me.

Also keep in mind that in addition to Rawart's excellent texture for him, I also have a morph set as well over at daz, that allows you to even scale all major body parts, widen the tail, has animation ecr controls for realistic breathing, and even has a baby rex morph built in.

If this is insufficiently detailed or realistic, please clarify - I can assure you it was based on the most recent evidence available...

I'm always looking to improve, so kindly provide feedback on where this is 'lacking'...

Cheers!

Thanks everyone for the replies. Rawnrr, those are great examples. is that the DAZ Rex? and whose textures were used? thanks ,   Ed

yes, almost forgot to mention Colins' Rex. that looks fine, Colin . having not growing up in the Jurassic period and lacking a degree in archeology, i definitely am not an expert on how a T Rex
should look like. having said that, the texture on your Rex, in my opinion, looks a little too clean.
giving me the impression of a 'plastic' look. i'm sure many would disagree, and thats fine. Its just a matter of my own personal taste, thats all.

That is Digital i's Rex at daz (not the old daz rex), and those are my rex-tex textures on it.

Hope that helps

Rawn

Oh, and FWIW, the avatar I'm using is also Digital's T-rex, with Rawart's texture, and a texture overlay in the morph expansion for him.

Yeah Gareee. saw that morph pack. pretty cool. i'm just doing the math here and wondering if I can spend the 50 to 60 bucks for the Rex and the texture and morph packs. tight budget.
cool T Rex by the way. Ed

One of the morphs I included was a "Hammond" morph, to closer approximate the Rex from Jurrassic Park (I have have the maquette reproduction here). I also supplied Colin pis of him for reference as well, but Colin peruses the scientific community Dino stuff all the time (way over my head), so I'm not sure how much input he used on a "creative license" type version.

All the other rexs out there just sucked badly, so I was OS happy to finally have a good poser one.

When I was a kiod, I was big on Dinos, and the rex of course was one of my favs.. along with Stegosaurus, Anklyosaurus, and Triceratops.
