Subject: Requests (Not Bugs) About the New Changes

Acadia ( ) posted Tue, 17 July 2007 at 1:43 PM · edited Sun, 26 January 2025 at 10:55 PM

Two things that I would like the see:

1.  When clicking a choice in the drop down menu that it opens up in a new window.

I use Mozilla-Firefox and depend heavily on "Open in a new tab" and with the drop down menu here that isn't possible. So I have to click the choice and it replaces the the current window. I don't like that at all.  I am often searching for things for people be it in the forum,  free stuff or the MP and not being able to open a new page from the drop down in a new tab is highly inconvenient.

  1. I'm a bit confused by the colours of the thread titles.  I notice that when I open a thread into a new window that the subject line on the main page of that forum turns gray. I like that part.

However, while  I have used the "mark all read before " this morning when I came here I had a bunch of orange subject lines mixed with gray ones. I wasn't sure what was going on and what I had read and what I hadn't read.

I clicked "Mark All Read" for that forum, now i have a bunch of gray subject lines mixed with white subject lines.

These varied colours are very confusing.

If I'm marking something "read", why can't the colour be changed to the same colour as the ones I have actually clicked on and opened up?

And then there are the stars. I'm confused about those too. After I marked the forum "all read", some stars are white and others remained yellow.  Shouldn't all of them be white since the thread was marked "read"?

I'm so confused because I can't tell what I've read and what I haven't read now.

Actually this is possible in FF, just right click then choose open link in new tab

Ok, that worked.  Seems something went amiss the first time I had tried it.  But I still have issues with the colour of the subject thread.

For example, this thread is showing up as gray in the main subjects of the forum.  However, you have replied.  While other threads are showing up as white,  causes the eye to want to focus on those ones and not the others that are grayed out.

yes instead of a darker gray #E29D14 would be better to match the text at the top - log in name time etc.

"all read" even if it's a thread I haven't clicked on, should be the same colour. I don't care what colour, just as long as they are the same colour.  This 2 tone of gray and white is confusing.

Another suggestion. The little icons to the left in the forums, the stars in the MP and the galleries, the "R" "$" etc, in the MP would look nicer on transparent backgrounds rather than that pinkish color :)

Just checked again. The star ratings in the galleries you cant even tell they are stars. The gold and pink blending is really hard to see.
