Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 11 12:18 am)
I use it to convert from V3 and A3 to V4 and have generally gotten the results I wanted. It's easy to use and the video tutorials are wonderful. Not to mention that PhilC is frequently here and does a lot of excellent customer support.

I haven't yet bought the V4.1 plugin for it but for everything else (I have most of the DAZ models and a lot of non DAZ models) it's great. One or two clothing items gave me trouble but in the main, it's reasonably fast, easy to use and gives very good results.

I use a variety of conversion applications, but the one reason WW will always have a place in my runtime is the ease with which you can get clothes to fit morphed figures.
With everything else it's, a) a process outside of poser, or b) an epic that involves creating the morphs in the clothes for future use. Don't get me wrong, that's a good thing. But sometimes I'm working with morphs that are supported by, say the Netherworks Studio morph kits and I don't feel like shutting down Poser and using the lengthy process of the Tailor. Clothes converted from a native fit for the character to a morphed fit almost always come out perfectly.
I could never get the results I wanted with The Tailor (OTOH, my partner has always liked it) but I love what I can do with WW.
I have to say, though, I've been playing with CrossDresser from EvilInnocence and it's a good program as well.

I have yet to be able to use the XDresser store. I have all cookies on and have logged in, still doesn't put items in my cart to buy. I have let them know this is happening and that I will not be trying again since it hasn't been dealt with since the last time I tried to buy them.
Will stick with WW.
I bought it ages ago and didn't get the results I wanted. But after I bought V4.1 and didn't have much for her to wear I broke it back out. Couple things, once I realized that after you analyzed an article you could save it to a library and after that you could convert it to any other figure without all the trouble and after I learned to love the "smooth" feature I love it. I use it on just about every render I do. I like to put cute dresses on the Freak. Maybe I'm just weird.
If the clothes don't have any big buttoms or bows on the surface, WW rocks. Otherwise they get mangled. Take for example the high waist line suit for for A3. I can't get the buttons to survive in WW. Granted you can go into the Material room and edit them out. In XD they look just fine, but as Kalon points out, you then have to do a bunch of work outside of poser with the morph channels. Thanks to Parrallels I can run all the wintel tools now on my Mac to transfer morphs or run programs like XD, It just makes the process more time consumming.
First choice or first attempt is always with WW. If I have problems, with surface items then I move over to XD, which I recently purchased for V3 with the desire to get other figures after I get more comfortable with tansfering morphs. Phil C's customer support for WW and all his other products is 2nd to none.

I love Wardrobe Wizard, it also comes with a number of tools that I use all the time when working in Poser. Utilities that turn IK on or off, zero the figure, remove all textures and turn the figure white, all in one place and easy to access. So even when not using it to convert clothing, I am always using it for the Utility functions.

Hello,
I know Phil C does good work, but I was curious what users of his Wardrobe Wizard thought about it. It's on sale right now, and I'm thinking of buying it. I've seen it discussed here in the past, but I wondered if further experiences with it have come to light regarding V4 or V4.1. I have a lot of V3 clothing I would like to move to V4, and also some V4 clothing I would like to push some custom V4 morphs into. I think it will do both. Any good or bad experiences to report?
Thanks as always
Mark
