A nice smart 3 piece suit - That's what Apollo really needs :)

Clawshrimp, if you see this... when I make the blacksmith apron, is there a particular morph you'd use it for?  I'm thinking a 'tummy out' version, and a normal version....

Hey Connie,

I'd either use it with Mother/Ivory or a new character I'm working on. He's a little burlier :).

Is this going to be like Anton's clothes, in that it will contain all scaling and morphing options, or is it going to be a 'fixed' clothing prop?

If we can hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominos will fall like a house of cards...checkmate!

Conniekat8 ( ) posted Mon, 04 June 2007 at 9:56 PM

Well, I was thinking that I should make it with a few morphs, but not having done pieces with a lot of morphs I find it a tad overwhelming trying to figure out which morphs to make it for.
So, if there are morphs that you'd like to have included, now is a good time to infuence me ;)

something 300ish would be way cool.

ClawShrimp ( ) posted Tue, 05 June 2007 at 2:32 AM

300-ish is already pretty much covered with Anton's free clothing packs, and being creative with other freebies :).

Connie, ideally there'd be ALL of the scaling and ADS options that Apollo has to enable fitting to any and all characters...but I imagine this is a fairly large task (I really have no clue).

As for non character specific morphs, I'd really love to see the obligatory  movement morphs. If my rugged manly-man has his foot on a stool for instance, it'd be nice if the apron didn't cut his leg in half.

Come to think of it, perhaps a dynamic/conforming hybrid would be better. This is all easy for me to say as I have zero clue about what goes into modelling a prop like this.

Regardless, whatever you come up with Connie, I'll be sure to make an image of it.

If I'm right, doesn't the new AM2007 pack come with clothing 'donor' .cr2's established, so you can use them for your rigging of the clothing item? this way, all the scale and morphing dials that Anton has created are automatically in place for you.

Of course, having next to no knowledge of the set-up room, I don't know if this is what would actually happen if you used them - but that was my understanding of it.

I'd like to have some hair and a shirt like this.

jjroland ( ) posted Tue, 05 June 2007 at 11:14 AM

Please add my vote to that ^^ shirt.  Apollo is  in desperate need of a normal shirt.  People keep looking at him funny because he never changes out of that tank top - his self esteem is taking a blow.

Good pointer. Actually, I mentioned either here, or elsewhere, in response to Anton that i plan on contacting him on technical details... once I have my marbles together enough to ask semi intelligent questions.
(as I'm thinking out loud here) one of the questions that is building up is about morph targets, if he has any goodies that make it little easier to develop content for Apollo then for DAZ or Efrontier figures.
BUUUT... I have a lot more research and studying up to do on my own first.
For example, fitting the clothes on various figure morphs, I don't relish the idea of hand morphing each piece to fit the morphs, there's dozens of morphs.
I'll have to contact Phil C and see if wardrobe wizard is OK to use for something like that.... (technically and from a license point of view)

Another thinking out loud post....
I may try to approach this is to to have is fully rigged and morph loaded apollo in Max, and then run cloth simulations on clothes pieces there... then export morphs to Poser...
Well, we'll see, I'll experiment some...

Lady Apollo would be interesting.... I'll have to grow some character morphing skills for that. It's beyond what I can do just yet.
It would be cool if someone makes it!

I echo the need for a buisness suit for Apollo, though I like the backsmith thing--unless you're doing farm scenes I don't think it's something we can get a lot of use out of.  Poser world had a nice set of cover-all that could be retextured to leather for such purposes.

A nice suit with a top coat would be excellent.  The top coat could h ave trench coat textures.  Some day Apollo might like to get married, hold an excutive position, or even just go out to the theater--he really needs something to wear for those occassions.

cedarwolf ( ) posted Thu, 26 July 2007 at 10:11 AM

Wow, Stormchaser...is that Apollo-ette?  When will she be available to the group?  That's a great looking morph you've come up with there.

Hmmm...guess we'll need a whole new wardrobe for her, right?  Or at least morph sets for existing clothing?   Not being a modeler myself, I don't fully comprehend the work involved here, I can barely get a cube using the primitives.

Again, let me thank everyone in the community for all their hard work, without which I would probably just be sitting on my porch wishing I had a hobby that didn't involve yard work, power tools, or stress.

stormchaser ( ) posted Thu, 26 July 2007 at 10:28 AM

Thanks cedarwolf. I would like to eventually put one of my morphs up as a freebie, maybe the woman in the mentioned picture. Problem is I may have my internet cut off soon so I can't think that far ahead.

stormchaser ( ) posted Thu, 26 July 2007 at 10:46 AM

RAMWolff - She's V3, but I morphed her in V3 Next Generation 2 & injected the full morph into V3 SAE. You see, there are things I can do within NG2 that I can't within SAE.  Her face, chest & hip/thigh area are really heavily morphed beyond the base. I'm also currently smoothing out features with the morph brush tool.

RAMWorks ( ) posted Thu, 26 July 2007 at 10:58 AM

She looks quite good.  I've never been a fan of V3 but this looks quite good.  Congrats on your success!! 😄

Thanks RAMWolf. Virtually every muscle group found within V3 has been morphed here, I've found this best to give the overall impression of body shape, plus I do scale some parts as well to add that extra dimension.

I'll try to dl those again tomorrow. But I'll agree with those who wanted a t-shirt for apollo. I am too kinda tired with the tanktop.A proper T-shirt for Apollo would be nice. :) I mean there is only so many renders you can do with the tanktop.

Usually I get an email bot telling me they've been posted, so I'll give you guys heads up post when I get it.

I have to remodel that logging cabin if I were to use it in Poser. It's one of my early pieces with a lot of glitches. Luckily, Bryce doesn't mind those internal glitches. Poser would have a cow.
Anyway, short answer is, eventually, I'd like to, but it's probably not going to be really soon, since it'll take a bit of time.
