Subject: A Question About the Forum Message Editor

MGD ( ) posted Fri, 27 July 2007 at 1:14 PM · edited Thu, 12 December 2024 at 12:17 PM

Greetings,

Sometimes I would like to insert html links within the body of a message
on the Photography Forum (or other forums, as well).

What should I do to insert such a link?

BTW, is there a FAQ or tutorial on how to use the Message Editor?

Hint: a link to that information wouldn't be a bad idea, either.

p.s., I thought that a notation about maximum pixels and file size was going to
be added near the 'Attach a File' and 'Browse' button.

The browser I use does not support any editor so I do all my coding by hand. I am sure someone who uses it can give you some assistance though. I've never seen a FAQ for the message editor -- but that does not mean it does not exist. I would post your question in the Community Center Forum Martin.

On the Community Center forum, nruddock was kind enough to provide
this information ...

See linked thread.

Message Editor?"

This may help -> http://wiki.fckeditor.net/UsersGuide

I did a test -- it seems to work.

BTW, after creating a link, you can use the 'Source' icon to edit it's label.

It's really not that difficult. Just select the text you want to be the link, click on the world icon with the chain, paste or type the link you want to assign and click ok.  Unless I'm not understanding you correctly.

And Kort: what browser do you use that doesn't support the editor?

Safari. I see no editing options and if I want something bold I have to (B) (/B) it myself, as well as with the link. Perhaps the new version coming out soon will be compatible. I can see the editor when I use Firefox, but that is not my main browser.

Ah, I see. I can't test that since I don't use a mac. I wonder if you can use the editor we use at work (we're working on a CMS).

Someone claiming to be **TwoPynts** asserted that he used the browser named,

Safari.

And he then went on to claim,

I see no editing options

Hmmmmmmm ... do you have java and/or javascript enabled?

I attached an image of what the message editor area looks like in my browser.

In your browser, if you see a small triangle under the "B" of body, try clicking
there.
