I've recently downloaded the demo of Vue d'Esprit 2.1. Are there any other users in this forum that have/do use this combo, and are willing to clue me in on the process of applying texture maps to Poser4 .obj in this program? The "automatic" settings do not seem to work. -Robert "hoefully I'm just blind..."

I've had Vue d'Esprit for about a year now, and although I think the vegetation is better than Bryce's, I still like Bryce better. The textures in Vue are not as versatile. I haven't tried to take a Poser obj into Vue because I wasn't sure if I could bring the textures in. The texture editor is very lacking in comparison to Bryce. If anyone knows more about this, I'd like to know, too. Thanks, Robert, for bringing up the question. It's an interesting one. Melanie

"Flip" (not rotate) the texture map in a 2d editor. Use "Mapped Picture" & "Automatic" for the map settings.... viola! -Robert

Hi Guys, My "Danger Behind" post was done in Vue d'Esprit and I like it very much, thank you! It's all a matter of speed and ease of use. I also think it's a young program just beginning to grow into its potential. Also They are very responsive to input. They put in obj support just for Poser users! (yes, you do have to flip the textures, as well as convert them to something other than TIF) They also have a users group with a forum and a lot of freebee down loads. If anyone has Vue question's you can email me. (stturk@earthlink.net) I know this program like the back of my hand! Steve T

i used VUE for few month now, beside Bryce (now4).Poser file in obj format was imported with no problem with version 2.1 of Vue:you must inverse(like in PSP5) or flip the texture like we do in Bryce 3d before.Vue can not load Poser 4 .mtl file coming with.obj file :you must export selected body and after selected cloths, and combining cloths and body in Vue;the process is easy because Vue have a very effective browser for selecting and manage parts .According my experience with Bryce4 and Vue2.1(not the demo),i prefer the more natural rendering colors of Vue(with soft shadow) and vegetations(trees)than Bryce .The poser caracter seems have nicer look ,more warm rendering in Vue.The landscape editor is also better in Vue
