I just saw that item in a banner ad.
"It is good to see ourselves as
others see us. Try as we may, we are never

are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not
angry with our critics but will take in good

say." - Ghandi
Thanks for the quick reply, but it's RAF and also the wrong type of clothing. Maybe I need to make the request clearer, my apologies.
I'm looking for a clothing set (flightsuit) which is the type they wore during combat in dogfights, not military dress they would have worn in the mess.
So it's the flying suit, Goggles, Flying Helmet (again usually leather), Parachute and May West air vest.
The best example of the items required are in the top three pictures of this link and also the last picture in the link (uniform on left). This is exactly what I am looking for.

Hi Mysticpuma2004
My partner and me are at your service. E mail me at patricktrimble@gmail.com

not exactly what you want, but someone around here (Bazze, I think), has a pilot prop which is an outfitted top half of a pilot, to stick in various cockpit meshes. Might work for any background aviators and aviatrixes (aviatrices?) out there.
I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

It's good to know that the RAF Service Dress (both officer and NCO versions) is out. It's the correct uniform for the Battle of Britain, and remember that the RAF had a lot of Sergeant Pilots. Obviously, it's not the flying gear, and I'd also like to see the later Battledress-style uniforms, wartime and post-war. (See the movie The Dam Busters for that style.) I once saw some reenactors in Luftwaffe aircrew uniforms. It's different from the Sidcot suit, but they used a similarly baggy set of overalls, which I don't recall anyone attemptiong for Poser.
Hi Everyone
Thank you for your emails and I'll reply shortly. I've talked with my partner, and this is what we've come up with ; We'll make the flight suits, both axis and allies. We'll make an Apollo version, an M3 version, a Simon version, and a V4 version. We'll also work on a line of civilian clothes of that era. She also recommends that we create a line of pin-up girls for nose art as well.
We'll post updates as the work progresses
Cheers

Wow! That is a comprehensive list. Thanks in advance for any effort you put into this.
Can I ask a question though? Will the clothing be detachable individually, or is the model a complete figure with all clothing attached?
My only reason for the question is that the Oxygen Mask would be nice to have fixed to the face, but also detachable to hang to the side, and the Goggles would be nice toihave across the eyes, but also pulled up above the eyebrow line resting on the flying hat.
Is that an possible?
Thanks again, really looking forward to seeing the results, MP.

I'm sure I've seen goggles that do that, possiby the Cygnus X set from DAZ. As for the oxygen mask, how about using geometry switching, which is one of the tricks that Anton Kisiel came up with. So you have a helmet with the facemask in use (with some fitting morphs, but who could tell?), and a second mask on its own bone, dangling. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes out.
Here's how my partner has categorized the project.
Conforming or hybrid figures:
Leather bomber jacket (A2) or fabric bomber jacket (B-10)
Leather and/or white gloves
Parachute pack - I think this would be the hardest to make conform properly. Maybe just a parented prop that inherits bends?
Mae West
Leather boots
Pants (none pictured, but that'd be a good idea)
Parented props
Helmet with air mask (needs easy pose tubing)
Goggles
Cap (with insignia)
Scarf
Hi
I just happened to come across this thread. A few days ago I found this: http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-3468603-vintage-aviator-motorcycle-goggles.html
I find stock image websites to be a useful and easy way to find reference. I was actually looking for modern pilot images at the time.
Cheers,

hi all! i'll be working with patorak on this (and other) projects, and he asked me if i could field comments, questions and references so he can spend more time on modeling and devlopment. i just wanted to let you know that i started a thread in the developer's forum to poll everyone interested and determine which (freebie) item to start with. so please place your votes!

Just a bump for this thread, I'm wondering if the project ever came to fruition?
For me, when I started the thread (Mysticpuma2004), I was hoping for USAAF pilot clothing. If the project has fallen by the wayside, my original question still stands though.
Is anyone able to create a USAAF set of clothing for Poser 7, for the period 1943-45.
I would be willing to pay for this, but as my original question stated, how much is a fair price, as I don't know?
Thanks, MP.
It is a shame your thread and request had faded away into the mulch........
I think it is still an area of sustained interest poorly catered for.....
I wonder if ranman38 might be interested?

Life is a beta.
In faecorum semper, solum profundum variat.
Actually I am interested and did start some coverall type pacific uniforms. I will revisit it after I get my Sherman, and maybe som US tank crew unis posted.
As far as price, well, it all depends on the detail needed. If you want it to look good in a render from a distance, then it would be really cheap. But if you want renders that focus on the pilot, and need good folds, and such then it would get a little higher. I will see what I can get together, and keep you all posted. :)
Hi Ranman, thanks for taking a look, if you'd like I can post the images of the US pilot clothing that I suppleis previously, so you can see what I was on about.
Basically it would need to be quite detailed as they are intended for close-ups, and detatchable parts would need to be Helmet, Goggles, Oxygen mask, Mae West and Gloves. The first three are the most important.
Let me know your thoughts as I'm still keen on this, MP.
That's great news ranman, if you'd like some detailed pictures of the 1944-45 clothing, I can scan a picture from the "Mustang Aces of the Eighth Air Force" book by Osprey, that shows the clothing very well.
Another link, showing earlier war clothing is here:
http://www.303rdbg.com/uniforms-gear-fighter.html
This would be useful too, but 44-45 much more so.
Thanks for at-least taking a look, MP.
Thanks for the ref pics. Helgard at Vanishingpoint.biz is going to release a figure soon. He has asked us vendors to support it with products. So, this will have to wait until I get his figure, so I can model to it. I know it will be a great figure and will be easy to model for and pose, etc. I will keep you posted.
Ok, just bringing this back from the dead. Has anyone made, seen or got any WW2 USAAF Pilot clothing/models for Poser?
Please? Really looking for this and have said I would be willing to pay, but still need to know a fair price. Time is running out for the project I am working on.
Can anyone help with a USAAF Pilot for WW2 1943-1945 era?
Cheers, MP.
I can be contacted at Mysticpuma@googlemail.com
Mystic I know getting any Air Force uniforms is like finding hens teeth. Plenty of army but not air force.
Maybe you can post a message over at the vanishingpoint forums (www.vanishingpoint.biz) as they have a fair range of militaria. Also they have just released a new figure (Vincent Parker) and one of the options is to have him integrated with various uniforms as a single figure rather than conform clothing to him.
If you get in quick, they may be able to help you out in time for your project. I'd offer myself but I'm useless when it comes to clothing. If you want me to post for you let me know.
Yeah, now, if I was going to do this, I would do it for Vincent. Last I talked to Helgard, the guys that made the Paratrooper uniform are experts at such things, but I am not sure what is in the queue. Pirates I heard, and maybe someday German uniforms, not sure what else. I just started re-working my free German tank commander uniform for Vincent.

Guys, I am looking for a USAAF and Luftwaffe WW2 fighter pilot clothing set for Poser 7. The USAAF is the most important though.
As long as it is possible to attach it onto one of the male character/figures, that will more than suffice.
I have searched the website looking for clothing of this type, but have so-far been unable to track any down.
So my next question is, if I asked to have it made (I can't find a way to request this though on this sites Marketplace), what sort of price would I be looking at?
I'm not going to bleat and say it shouldn't be paid for, but I have no idea what price I should be honestly expecting to pay.
I can post a picture of the Flying outfit I would require, but where and how do I ask for someone to make it?
Thanks so much for any help, MP.
