The "pontiac 1951" by schurby is the closest I've seen to your pict.    I don't see it here in freestuff so I'm not sure where he posted it originally.   (sorry, not much help, but it did look like a similar style)

Cherokee69 used a car in one of his pictures that looked like a '37 or so Chrysler
product to me.  It was a 4-door with trunk, I think.

You might message him if he doesn't see this.

(All 4 Chrysler makes were nearly identical in appearance from '36-38)

Here's the picture by Cherokee69 if you want to examine the car.   It's a wonderful
picture of his grandparents' farm.[

Thanks for info about all Chrysler makes.  I needed that, so I can keep on with my quest.
How do I message someone?
I'd also like to message Schurby (see below!)

straightlife ( ) posted Fri, 10 August 2007 at 8:36 PM

Quote - You can find Schurby's cars at 3D Commune in the free area.  Here are some threads of 2 cars he created.

Thanks, so much.  I can't find those particular cars, but I'll keep trying.
Is there anyway to get in touch with him?  I've never used these forums before.

The messaging is sort of indirect.  Click on Members above, pick Member Search,
and fill in the name.  If the name is a member, you'll get a screen that includes
'sitemail'.  From there you can send a message.

Thanks, I try to find both of them.

I cant remember ever seeing a model of that car for free, but you should look through DMI Car Models if you have not. they have about 9-10 old cars, some very similar in look to this one.

I did find this :
1940 plymouth over at TurboSquid is US$120.

Way too expensive, plus it likely will need some converting done to it before bringing it into poser.

Sorry I cannot be of more help

Thanks a bunch.  If it were exactly the car I need and could use in Poser I'd spring for it.  I saw that one.  Sigh.  L.

Schurby logged in today at 3DCommune.com, so you should be able to contact him from there.

Here is the car ockham mention in that pic. It's the 1936 AM Sedan (I'm pretty sure it's a 1936 Chevy. Wonderful car model.

Thanks for popping in.

It's a '36 Buick, but the front end could pass for a '37 Plymouth if you add
the Mayflower hood ornament.

Still, I've got to buy one now!

Thanks, everybody!  I tried to contact Schurby, but don't think I managed it.
I did buy and download the 1936 AM  from Daz.  It's got some problems.  It's a four door, and the trunk shape is different, but it's the best I've found yet.
I do appreciate all the help.  I'll keep trying to find Schurby.  (btw, the picture of the 1937 Plymouth above is very similar to the one I'm using.  But it looks like a four door, too.)  Thanks, thanks, again.

Thanks, Acadia -- I did manage to email Schurby (I think) at 3d Commune.  I'll try this link as well.  I've queried a company that makes models (amazing 3d) about making me one, but their prices look very high.

Hello, everybody.  I've reached Schurby!  We're discussing it all.  thanks for all your help.  Laurie

Now what kind of car is in the picture again?  I've been googling Plymouths for 15 minutes and I can't find anything with that ridged gille/hood.

Are you referring to the green car (last image posted)? If so that is a 1938 Pontiac as stated below the image.

No, I was just trying to find another picture of the original car.  All of the ones I'm finding have some differences, making it hard to tell if it's the same car or not.
