Subject: What is Easy Pose?

Conniekat8 ( ) posted Mon, 13 August 2007 at 1:18 PM · edited Thu, 06 February 2025 at 9:35 PM

I have a feeling this is one of those things that everyone but me knows...

I keep hearing about easy pose, easy pose underground, Ajax's wonderful easy pose system? what is it? Where do I find it? Where do I find details about it? Links?

I'm bewildered, Googling let me down on this one :(

EasyPose let's you make adjustments to alot of joints at once.  EasyPose underground let's you set up a new figure to be used with EasyPose.

I've heard Ajax has gone away, on business, until the end of August, but I'll drop him a line anyhow.  He's got a Free EasyPose for Angelyna WIngs, that he said needed fixing.

Is it a utility available for purchase?  or  rigging techniqie described and documented somewhere? ... or something else?

"EasyPose", EP for short, is a system invented by Ajax for adding cascaded ERC to figures or props. EasyPose is probably most usefull where a long series of actors (body parts) are joined head to tail, eg a rope, chain, or tail. EP allows the rotation ("bending") of all the actors via one dial, or all the actors after the selected actor, or all the actors before the selected actor. There a re diffrent styles of "bending", including corkscrew.

EasyPose Underground is an application by Ajax to help in adding EP to figures.

There is an EasyPose tutorial in ziped HTML format downloadable from the URL below:

just to expand on the whole easypose discussion. easypose developed by Ajax was based on the discoveries of Rob Whisenant and Nurd explained here: which was the basis of JCMs and other ERC tricks. Easypose is simply a chain of Joint Controlled Joints each being triggered by the joint ahead of it in line. Easypose can be set up by hand, in the same manner as outlined in the link above but Easypose Underground simplifies the process a huge amount, as well as providing an extremely quick solution for setting up any kind of ERC.

Yes, Yes!!!  :)
I do have that info bookmarked and printed out. I still have ways to go to digest it all.
I suspected that's what drives easy pose.
Great info and a good idea bringing up the ERC!!!

I wonder if there's an in depth book that talks about intermediate and advanced rigging...  I feel like I'm tapping in dark trying to learn it without a lot of documentation.

the book that best discribes intermediate and advanced rigging, as well as many other features of figure creation is Secrets of Figure Creation for Poser 5 (don't let the name fool you, this book is just as valid for poser 7 as it is for Poser 5)
