Subject: What was in Poser 7 Special Edition?

StealthWorks ( ) posted Tue, 21 August 2007 at 4:20 PM · edited Wed, 18 December 2024 at 12:01 PM

Hi
I recently won Poser 7 Special Edition in a competition and have a full boxed version of the software. I intend selling it on EBAY but need to know what additional content the Special Edition includes so that I can accurately describe it in the listing. I don't wnat to open the box so I can sell it as a 'Sealed' copy.
Could anyone that has the Special Edition or has a link to a page showing the features of the special edition help me out? (the back of the box doesn't show any additional content)
Thanks

p.s. if anyone is interested in purchasing this off me please send me a private message with your offer.

I believe what made it "special" was all of the Casino content and spiffy clothes for Sydney & James.

I don't have all of the details here at work with me...I don't know it that info is still on e-Frontier or not.

The French and German editions currently have Special Editions that are identical to the English one, except that they are in French/German, of course, and it's as LaVonne said:  you get the James Bond casino props, formal clothing for Sydney and James (or the other G2s) and the unrenderable car.   The value of the bonus material is claimed to be $79.99.

Oh, yeah! I forgot about the car. I never even loaded it let alone try to render it.

I used the casino props once...I think I used her formal clothes once too!

Hmmmm...guess they weren't too "special".

This unrenderable car? ;)

Though if I'd known it was going to take 4 hours to render I might not have bothered (my fault for turning the render settings up I guess)!

Well, since I decided to kill the render, rather than run the risk of reaching retirement age before it died from natural causes, I have to say "Thank you" and that I am impressed with your dedication, although rather less with the way the car renders.    This has to be the only sports car going that has a bonnet seemingly composed of the same material as the windscreen (and a different material from all of the other bodywork).   Nevertheless, I have to stand corrected about "unrenderable".

The Material setup is screwed, I had to change the headlight glass to the same settings as the windows because they rendered black otherwise.  The bonnet settings might be different to the rest of the bodywork too, I didn't actually check that. I don't know what it is about e-f that makes them think their models need to have so many polys, they could've made that much less render-intensive.
