Quote - How would you adjust your pricing if you were also asked to provide the source file for the image.
That is a tricky thing. That could violate copyright and redistribution laws. If you were to provide a scene file to the person, they would have to have Poser and all of the items that you used in order to use that file.
"It is good to see ourselves as
others see us. Try as we may, we are never
able to know ourselves fully as we
are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not
angry with our critics but will take in good
heart whatever they might have to
say." - Ghandi
Well I for one wouldn't divulge that sort of info in open forums,.
I do some commercial work but I'm not at the top end of the scale, that is I don't do it as my full time job and it wouldn't pay the bills but it does cover my 3D addiction of buying models to use in those projects!!

Quote - Thanks for the comments. I'm just interested in a ballpark number. I wouldn't be distributing poser content with the file so no worries there.
A lot depends on the market where you intend to sell your artwork.
Your best bet is to do some networking where you want to sell, and learn the ropes.

I think you'll find it's very much a "buyers market" out there at the moment!
There are so many peeps doing this now, that publishers or whoever need an image done have a massive field to choose from and sometimes an artist who does it for the enjoyment rather than financial reward will do it cheaper!
If you're looking to make big bucks at it then you will need to have exceptional talent as well as the tools!

If there are any commercial artists out there, I'm wondering what you are typically charging for new artwork. How would you adjust your pricing if you were also asked to provide the source file for the image. Would you further adjust if your client were using it beyond a particular medium, not only print usage , but website, podcast, etc. ?
Thanks for your help!
