Has anyone heard any upates?

A few days ago I went there and there was a message that said "If you are trying to get to this site, good luck!  hahaha"  I thought Dr. Geep was doing maintenance and that was just his wacky sense of humour.

The next day I saw someone in a thread say that his site had been hacked. I went and looked at his site again and this time there was a purple page saying "Down for Maintenance".

Yesterday and today it's a 404 error now :(

I swear! I'm not a violent person, but there are times I would just like to reach out and ring the necks of those who are so mean and destructive as to do that to someone's hard work!  I hope he has means of tracking the IP address of who it was and files charges.

Has there been any news?

I get the down for maintenance on a blue screen. "It's coming soon." "Can you find it?" ;] Sounds like the good Doctor is doing some surgery on the site.

I get a white 404 page error.

Just checked it out and I get the "Down for Maintenance" message but the screen is orange.

I'm sure most of us are indeed familiar with the good doctor's warped sense of humor (and I'm certainly hoping that's all it is)

But if his site was hacked, I do hope he hasn't lost such a huge compilation of instructional material. Such valuable information to Poser users of virtually any skill level.

I think it was a week ago that I went to the site and saw the message, to the effect that it had been hacked.   I don't recall the exact words but it may well have been, "This site has been hacked."   That switched to the "Down for maintenance" screen by the next day.   The background colour seems to vary.    The link at the bottom of the page is to

Fingers crossed, the hacker may get a bad surprise.

I hope he's going to be ok.  I've been meaning for the longest time to take his tutorials. What is it with people who vandalize for no reason?

Yep, that's true becuse his official join date is 1999-03-13. Anything other that that using Geep's name ain't him.

Yup, it's mois ... and I apologize for any trouble that I might have caused. :sad:

I did not get hacked.  I have had beaucoup PC problems, cable modem problems, and problems with my email and ISP in general. :cursing:

Here is what happened ...

I was trying to get a forum installed (doing the s/w myself) ... :mellow:
(you know, sort of like brain surgery, self taught)
... and things on my web site just sort of "blew up" in my face.  It's a good thing I don't have to make my living as a programmer or I'd starve to death in a week.  That coupled with the fact that my current ftp s/w has gone flakey on me has exacerbated the entire situation.

Yes, I have all my tuts, etc. backed up on a secondary PC and, also, archived on multiple CDs.

Sorry, I can not promise any kind of timetable for getting things on the site restored but I will try and get things back on line ASAIC. :unsure:

In the meantime, I DID get a forum installed (WHEW!!!) ... so, come on over to the PU Coffee Shop and say "Hi." :biggrin:

Might need to have your service provider check into that if you haven't already. Also, could be a cable modem going bad. Just a thought.

hmm...I think Doc once said he'd put up about 2,500 pix (is that right?), and the total I downloaded was about 1,700 or so (and that was several tuts ago). Of course I skipped all the Poser 5 ones because I didn't have  Poser 5 (now that I do, I need to go back and look for them).

There were plenty at Ebonshire.net...if that's still around.

I'll go have to follow my star, or something. Keep on keeping on, Doc..;)
